Whatever......

Offended by a breast?
Give me a break.
It's high time America got over it's Puritanical ideas about nudity and ______. In the rest of the world what Janet did would not have raised an eyebrow. But here, people freak out....I don't get it.

To me the bigger issue is the streaker. How was a guy dressed like an official allowed to infiltrate the most secure site in the country yesterday?

I, personally, am not offended by a breast. I just don't want to see it during half time. And a lot of parents 'assume' regular TV networks will refrain from nudity because parents do not want their children seeing 'Pop-Idols' expressing themselves in this fashion. If I want to see a breast I will tune in to Skin-A-Max (Cinemax) after 10 PM local time and I will get my share.

Really, this is a HUGE debate that has gone on for YEARS between many types of people and there have been NO resolution... just opinion and judgement. I doubt any conclusion will be met here in the boards of WDWMAGIC.

Say what?
Who brought into this?
What happened was not , and no, I wouldn't let a kid watch .

I'm not saying it was the perfect thing to do, but it's not the big deal people are making out of it.

Well, there is always a time and a place for that kind of exposure and last night wasn't it.

Well obviously it is if the government is going to investigate this.

The govornment wouldn't "investigate" if people hadn't had such a huge over-reaction. What is there to investigate? They showed her breast, nipple piercing and all. End of story. Get on with life.
The govornment is also looking into why the FCC didn't come down on Bono for saying the "F" word at the Golden Globes last year. In my opinion, too much time and money wasted over nothing.

The free, "public" airwaves, as opposed to cable channels, are limited and are allocated to licensed stations, who are licensed to serve EVERYONE, including children and families. Nudity and the "f" word are restricted from the public airwaves because of this, and it is appropriate. Because they are limited, they have to be licensed and the previliged users are then regulated by the taxpayers (everyone).

It is appropriate to restrict indecent behavior from the public airwaves. You can buy indecency elsewhere.

And as for why certain things are considered indecent:

1. The "f"word is not a casual word for "making love." It means rape (look it up). It refers to violent, offensive use of ______ to dominate a person. Other uses are derivative of that, but do not get completely away from it.

2. Janet's exposure was used for obscene titillation, not thoughtful "art." It went over the line, and was not for education or art. It taught that it is appropriate to go up to someone and pull off her clothes, so that you will "have her naked body by the end of this song!"

Anyway: the public airways are just that, and licensed stations must consider the previlige that they have to be among the limited ones that are in their position. They need to consider the public at large when making decisions.

For anything else, there is cable/satellite/dvd/VHS....

Thanks

Well EXCUSE ME. I never noticed that technicality, but now that you say there WAS a covering for that very small part, it's OK.

Right??

It's not that it was "FULLY NUDE." Her breast WAS exposed (yes, the full breast, and who cares about small technicality, because we are not arguing about the technicalities, but what generally happened and the message it gives).

AMEN, prberk!

I'm glad your'e here to set us straight on moral acceptance. I can only assume that you are trying to stir the pot and don't assume that this type of entertainment is acceptable for children to see. Not just the breast incident, the whole show. Good for them to "Shake it up"??? Most everybody posting on these threads throw in some adult humor, myself included, but in a televised World Wide event shwon in Prime Time, this is not acceptable.

If you are not kidding, I would hate to see an America that would accept this kind of behavior as the norm. (the halftime behavior).

I'm still waiting on a cookie?!?!?!? I've finished the milk, chocolate, made with Nestle Powder...yum, yum.

Justin and Janet confess. They were doing somthing un-rehearsed or known about by anyone. Justin planned.. on ripping of the corset top revieling the red undergarmet.

He got more than he pulled for.

He must have tried really heard if that wasn't planned. The "no nudity nipple-cover" was not intended then?

I think that's a crap cover up on his part. I'm sure that that clothing would not rip off so easily if it had not before.

I heard an interview of someone who was at the rehearsal last Tuesday and Justin and Janet were practicing the pig incident.

I think the violent act of ripping her clothes during a very $exual dance sends the wrong message to every kid watching as did the Britney (pig) kiss. This may not bother some of you but it bothers a father of a 12 year old girl who will soon be attending 'socials' at her school. Do I just get on with life when a young stud replicates the halftime events with my daughter? After all, it's just my daughter's breast! And let me tell ya something, the incident was the talk all around her school today so don't try to tell me that it's no big deal, cuz it WAS!

What the hell, why didn't Justin just boink her so we Americans can join the other $exually progressive countries!
