By the way we got another notification today that 2 terminals will be shut down at the airport on the 23rd for private jets.

My only advice is to be flexible. She'll freak out no matter how you end up proposing.
Dh was planning on proposing to me in front of the castle as the fireworks were going off on the last night of their 25th anniversary celebration. The castle was all done up like a big birthday cake. Well, we were on Splash Mountain when we started hearing fireworks. DH was swearing under his breath and was starting to fidget and panic. So when we were on the part of the ride that goes outside and we could see the castle and fireworks, he asked me then. It wasn't his perfect plan, but it ended up being mine!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:
We're also going to be in Disney then. Maybe we'll see you there! Best of luck no matter how you do it!

Not there, but I did it in the Ballroom. That was quite a challenge in a moving Doom Buggy!!!

This just doesn't make sense. 1: There are numerous terminals not even in use at PIT...why not use those? 2: I have it on good authority that alot of those private jets will be landing at the County airport in West Mifflin.

Our company travels constantly and our staff manager's military buddy is in pretty high up at the airport. The terminals will be closed off and on on the 23rd and 25th with 2 being down for most of the 23rd. A will hopefully be one of them, but you never know. They may rotate terminals for security reasons and are not permitted to say to much.
My professional opinion is that by 7:00 all diplomats should have arrived and things should be pretty decent.

I would think that by 7pm most diplomats would be here. They aren't saying much for security reasons. The terminals will probably be rotated for seurity. You're lucky to get out of Pgh! It's going to be outrageous.

So you found out the hard way: Disney doesn't have an official Engagements department. The web site says they do, and it offers an e-mail address to the lady who is supposed to set them up, but the woman doesn't do them anymore due to "lack of demand." :shrug:

I'm not sure, I'll check. You'd think some people would be leaving Saturday and some Friday night. There is a rumor that the parkway will be closed with armed convoys/jets/helicopters escorting the diplomats back and forth. From what I hear the city itself will have 3 security perimeters. A hard perimeter around the Convension Center that no one is permitted through under any circumstances, a soft perimeter around that with high security that basically official people/protestors/citizens with ID can move about in, and a passable perimeter around the whole city with funnelled traffic and security check points. Basically you aren't moving through town with any kind of ease.
