Well this is a bit concerning. From a purely selfish point, We arrive Friday morning at 9:55 am on 9/25 (providing no delays, etc....) We were really hoping to jump off the plane and get to Disney ASAP so that we can hit MK for a few hours before our dinner reservations at EPCOT at 6:15. Sounds like keeping our schedule is going to be tough if all these closures are taking place. Drats!!! Foiled again!!

I was calling to set up the engagement I want to make when we arrive next month. So I asked about being the only people in the portrait chamber when its very slow or after Wishes right when the park closes. The call went to the travel company first. He then transfered me to MK guest relations and SHE then transfered me to Disney Weddings. After about 45 minutes of being on hold and passed around like a joint at Woodstock the woman from WDW Weddings said to talk to whoever is in charge at HM when I get there the day I want to propose.

I intended on doing this but I wanted my plans to be more solid. Ughhhhh I hate not having a plan!

If the insiders on here can't help, your best bet is to be VERY nice to the GSMs and/or CMs you're trying to get to help you. Just remember that if they do anything, it's purely as a favor and as a magical gesture from those individuals.

It's a shame they don't help out more with things like this, but if they promised to reserve the Portrait Room for you, then they'd have to promise something to everyone who wanted to propose there - and then they'd really be in the Engagement business :p

If all else fails, just sly up to one of the greeters outside HM when no other guests (or VERY few) are around so that you don't put the CM on the spot to break character in front of other guests. Quietly explain your request and see if you can just wait til there's a lull in the crowd and slip in and get your own stretch room - at THEIR convenience.

As with all humans, the nicer and more humble you are - and more appreciation you show - the further you get. Always present yourself knowing that they're doing you a favor and that you really appreciate anything they can do - knowing full well that they're not obligated to accommodate you.

Yeah I planned on doing that. I am always super nice to people who are working or customer service or whatever. Ive worked in retail a long time so I know how some common courtesy can go a long way. Well see what happens. Im not that worried about it. One way or another Ill get it done. BigB911 and I have a plan he will help with his troops if I cant get the room alone...

Hi there, why don't you when you check in at your resort, ask to see a conceirge there and maybe ask them to either get in touch with Guest Relations at MK or a CM somehow, maybe you can even have a CM take pictures of you at a specific time etc. I would definately try the conceirge at the hotel they have #'s to everything.
