Add rides yes, but why so many screens?

Haven’t most of the newer Universal rides had more physical props and most of the newer Disney rides (aside from Rise I guess) had mostly screens?

I thought all Disney rides had some kind of sensor built in or at least someone watching at all times to stop the ride if someone gets off. I was on the Little Mermaid ride once and a man dropped his cell phone and got out of the clam shell to get it and the entire ride stopped. He was then escorted off the ride by a CM.

The oppressive heat and humidity mixed with continual food and wine throughout the day/night could make someone do irrational things. But also bad behavior on vacation " what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas " one can substitute Vegas for something else .

A male guest jumped off the flume ride vehicle he was in at MK's Splash Mountain in 2000. He got stuck on the ride path. He was then struck by an incoming ride vehicle filled with other riders. He passed away from his injuries at Celebration hospital.

Even if Security was called the only ones I saw were at the front of the park checking peoples bags and backpacks. It would take a while for someone to respond perhaps.

There's a twitter user who said he was on the rear of the boat - and that they got on and off a total of four times. He also said that the 'voice of god' kept reminding them to keep their hands and feet inside the ride. So he thought they were indeed watching them......but then, they got off the ride, were not met by security and stumbled into soarin. (Personally, I'm not sure I would want to ride soarin in that condition.)

Either WDW security *chose* to not do anything about it or could not mobilize security fast enough to get there.

Hopefully they are smart enough not to try to get out of the ride vehicle during Soarin.

It's possible they didn't get there in time, that section is pretty late in the ride, unless they were getting off much earlier in the ride.

Hope The Land doesn't become one of those rides, like Horizons, where people run amok and become their personal playground. At least with Horizons, they provided a lot of behind-the-scenes look at that ride that will live forever now that Disney bulldozed its history.

I always wanted some of that water from POTC. I spent more time than I'm willing to admit trying to dream up covert ways to stick an empty Aquafina bottle in the water and come up with the prize. However, those dreams were killed for good when I read a story of someone losing some fingertips on the ride - and Ive already lost the tip of a finger due to a hatchet mishap when I was 14. So, no POTC water for me.

All that being said, I dont think that LwtL is a particularly 'dangerous' ride to step off from - but the fact of the matter is that none of these attractions were ever made for guests to step off and walk around on. There is a risk someone could fall into the water, get a limb stuck in the track, lose a digit while trying to climb out, fall and hit your head.

Yeah, my worry is that now that the word is out that you can do this and get away with it, others will try to one-up the "fat cucumber lady" and do even worse things to claim their 15 minutes of online fame.

Repercussions for this would be dependent on park operations not really security. Security will only act upon park ops leadership direction.

There's definitely alot of interest out there to find out if this was addressed by Disney security and how.....and not publicly addressing it sends a terrible message.
