Guest banned from WDW for meth lab joke.

If Disney threw me out of the hotel for off hand comment (although it WAS a stupid thing to say) they wouldn't have to ban me, that would be the last time I ever darkened their door.

If a I am wrong about this I will gladly publicly apologize but there is a lot more to this story. In this day and age of "entitlement syndrome" and everybody wanting their 15 minutes of fame I just have a hard time believing that he only made the one comment. Certain things he said like "my wife was afraid I would blow a gasket" leads me to believe he lost his temper. He talks about having limited income but his family of 4 has annual passes. He mentions tablets and mobile phones. Then he says "if anyone feels sorry for us and wants to help us". I watched the videos twice and something just isn't right. I feel terrible even posting this but I need to vent. Again if I am wrong I will sincerely apologize. I strongly feel that this escalated to the point of eviction for a reason.

Hardly a background check then, those will only show convictions, whose to say that he hasn't been arrested/cautioned before or elsewhere convicted other than Florida. There are numerous other things that could allude to his bad, or indeed good character. Whose to say there isn't a warning marker to suggest he's a drug dealer/producer?

I assumed that you had accessed some sort of database used in the course of your employment (as you have dropped in other threads that you are some sort of senior 'hirer') to view some sort of criminal records management system that is a little more detailed than an internet search.

Court Records are publicly available in all 50 states and are easily searched. Hence why theyre called "Public Records"

This doesn't pass the smell test, definitely more happened than what he's saying. There's no way Disney called out the police and had someone thrown out over a joke, my guess is he either made a threat or crossed the line in another way.

I don't know about Disney but here in Vegas it's very hard to get banned from a hotel/casino. Violence or threat of violence probably account for 99% of bans though. Whatever he said Disney took it very seriously and found it credible enough for a police visit and serious enough they don't want him back, a joke doesn't get that type of response.

Dont know the entire story but Disney has a responsibility to help ensure guest and property safety.

I live in an area where drug use is a real problem and not a plot on TV. Somebody making an off hand comment should be taken seriously.
People should understand there are repercussions for their actions. Very poor choice of words.

What if he made the comments and did this and no action was taken by Disney. Then it gets out. You don't think that would be a media firestorm.

The one pot method has become popular. When you can make it in a 20oz pop bottle and pitch it anywhere is scary. Places these are found are treated and cleaned as a Hazmat contaminated zones. Again more front page news with pictures.

Only a few will know the entire story and the context of events.

Hotel employees are specifically trained to identify people setting up to cook meth as the hotel is responsible for the clean up of room in event a room is used to cook meth.

What happens if a room is found to have or is being used for a cook?
  1. Occupants of room are arrested, detained and removed from room.
  2. Entire building is evacuated and Hazmat/EOD are called in to render room safe.
  3. Room is catalogued with evidence collected.
  4. Professional cleaners come in and strip room to the floor and walls as the room is classified as a hazardous waste site with all contents disposed as hazardous waste.
  5. Professional cleaners disinfect room.
This cleaning process can take several days and costs many tens of thousands of dollars.

So, would you be the CM to take the risk of ignoring a stupid meth lab comment?

I fully support the ban on this idiot.

I am with those who are saying there has to be more to this story. No way Disney would invite a backlash over a guest making one stupid joke. No way they would call the police to come out at midnight and permanently banish someone over one stupid joke. I sincerely doubt the CM he made the remark to made the decision to bring the cops out, am sure that a supervisor or manager made that decision, and I doubt they would have done so unless the guy gave them a really good reason to do so. Maybe I am wrong and Disney just happened to have a bunch of over-reactive CMs on duty that night, but I have seen, and I am sure most of the people who have spent much time in the parks and resorts, have seen guests say and do WAY worse things than this guy claims he said without having cops called on them or getting banned.

Well ... Adam had his trespass appeal denied 1 or 2 times, he never brought it up again unless someone very specifically asked, ended up moving out to the Anaheim area, was able to contain himself while being an annual pass holder at Disneyland for nearly 2 years, and was genuinely sorry about the stir he caused to WDW. He also didn’t approach a lawyer about the trespass but during a time when he needed legal advice on something unrelated THAT lawyer asked if he could take a crack at it; and the trespass was lifted.

IF this fellow is the same Swindler I’ve heard of (I don’t know if it is as I’ve never seen a photo of that fellow) then there have multiple instances of extremely abusive language and threatening people. IF this is the case they would have had him flagged for security to notified of any potential issue and the CM should report comments like this as requested – even if they seem unserious. At that point it’s security’s decision to call in OCSO.

I don’t think people appreciate how difficult it is to get trespassed from WDW or how unlikely it is that they called in OCSO for a single comment or incident.
There's another swindler with bad behavior?? What's that story?
Also, I'm not buying this guys account of what happened.

Well the cops came to the guys room at Midnight. There's no reason for that.
I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not, but, if not, is there a specific time that crap happens? Are they all home asleep and don't make late night house calls if something is wrong someplace?

Not doing that at midnight might apply if it was just a "possible" joke, but, like we said... there is more to this story and since he was causing problems at that time of night when the rest of the people were trying to get some rest, might just be more of a reason to show up at that time.

This reminds me a little of the guy who got his Disneyland Club 33 membership revoked. From his telling of the story, it was a one-time infraction and it wasn't even his fault. Disneyland did actually issue a statement saying that he had a history of violating the rules of Club 33 membership. I never heard if he got it reinstated or not. Maybe if this meth lab story gets enough publicity, Disney will issue a statement to set the record straight.

Oh sorry. Wasn't being sarcastic.

But I see why. Some things you just shouldn't joke about tho
