Guardians Tower announcement Saturday in SD ...

Universal have become masters of merchandising, this is true. But they have become better at theming and place making. Disney on the other hand appears to have completely given up. Frozen obviously belongs in Fantasyland. Avatar at DHS. GotG at DHS. Inside Out and Big Hero 6 could both work at Epcot. But Disney doesn't think like that anymore. The only reason Arendale invaded Norway was to drag some of the Princess crowd OUT of Fantasyland.

Sadly Disney parks HAD a main idea and vision tying them together. Trying to explain what ties the IPs in Uni parks together would be impossible. Which is why they can get away with whatever they want

Shortly after the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission: Breakout announcement was made, I began to accept the reality that Walt Disney World's four theme parks will never achieve simultaneous thematic glory. Some parks will be immersive and transporting, while others will continue to languish thematically. Based on what currently exists and is known, thematically, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios will rise to one and two, respectively. Magic Kingdom will remain a middling park, surpassed by its neighbors and global offerings, and Epcot will continue to devolve into a hodgepodge of what once was, what is, and what could have been. As long as the Land and Seas pavilions continue to exist in their current iterations, Future World will not be able to embrace a Sci-Fi identity. Future World West is too rooted, literately, in the life sciences.

Well considering we have a 'hobby' farm the Case 585 Backhoe and the Caterpillar 235 excavator fufill most of the our earthmoving needs... And the John Deere tractors with front end loaders to handle the rest of the stuff.

The only real problem with the big stuff is USING them enough to keep the hydraulics free of water so a local contractor buys hours from us to use the machines.

I'm SO late to this party but my "favorite" part of the video by far is the hilarious way Joe tries to explain the ride building. Even after being in charge of the design himself, knowing he was about to be filmed, and having months to think about the best way to put it, he says and I'm quoting exactly, "the setting, is a kind of... warehouse... fortress... power plant where the collector keeps objects."

When the rumors started, the first thought that came to my mind was how they were going to justify the existing ride building and this insanely convoluted collection of words that actually made it into a PRESS VIDEO blows my mind.

Clearly, you've never seen Ang Lee's commentary on the Hulk movie DVD.

Clearly, you've never seen Ang Lee's commentary on the Hulk movie DVD.

The difference being that Ang Lee bounced back and went on to make great films like Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi while Joe Rohde went on to design the world's most expensive landscaping projects disguised as Disney attractions. That's what makes his rambling explanation of this project even more baffling. He's the guy who spends years researching the right font to use on a sign and billing it straight to the Walt Disney Company and here he is talking about the DESIGN of the ride and he came up with warehouse / fortress/ power plant.

OrigInals mean nothing to the company. Look at what they're doing to Disneyland.

I agree with you. It's a mess. Too much Star Wars... I'm tired of it already, and now they are changing Walt's original 1955 river and railroad too much for a sci-fi land of space violence. Heck, the railroad will not go around the perimeter like it always has.

And nobody give me that Disneyland will never be complete stuff. Sure it will never be complete, but nothing should be destroyed. Especially history. You all know the saying, "If it isn't broke don't fix it." They are destroying history that hasn't been broke for 60 years. Been running perfectly well since 1955. It's all about $$$.

The railroad hasn't gone around the perimeter since Toon Town was built 1993.

Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots. An ingot of power, an ingot of reality, an ingot of mind. You’re moving into a land of both strength and energy, of death and destruction. You’ve just encountered… the Infinity Stones.

Amid his warehouse fortress power plant in the middle of Knowhere, The Collector, Taneleer Tivan is a star in his own right. A collector of fauna, relics and species of all manor. Now something is about to happen that will change all that.

The time is now on an evening nothing like the one we have just witnessed. Tonight’s story of Taneleer is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction.
