He hasn't minimized squat. Not that I've seen.

Is it too much of a stretch to consider that the guy likes it?

If it weren't taking over ToT, would you all be so doubtful of his sincerity??
Just look at his personal website or Instagram postings. There is nothing about Marvel comics or films. I don't believe he has any passion for being the portfolio leader for Marvel.

I didn't watch the announcement but I see it's true.

For multiple reasons, I am not totally heartbroken that DCA's Tower of Terror is going away.

I'm heartbroken that they've made a boneheaded decision. Because that doesn't bode well for the future.

Well, its very sad then. Honestly. I don't like to see a man, who is rightfully regarded so highly for his creativity subordinate himself for the sake of money. If he truly is phoning this in, he's compromised his ethics, and sadly one can no longer trust anything he says.

Yes, its quite an indictment, and I hope it isn't true.

.

NOT funny. Not at all.

But the theme of the attraction won't. Might just as appropriately put the thing in Frontierland.

"Space... the Final frontier.. these are the voyagers of the starship, Enterprise"

Ring a bell?? Space is as much a frontier as anywhere else.

The extent of his interest in Marvel up to this point has been trips to Comic Con since he became portfolio lead on Marvel.

You know Joe's phoning it in because we've always seen him work on projects he's deeply passionate about.

It's not that simple. A WDI employee having ethics (thematic, business or otherwise) is fine, but acting on them is something else altogether: Not following the company program (as defined by the notoriously toxic management culture) will get you a quick trip down the hierarchy -- or out the door.

Well they trotted him out for the Jungle Book thing, and yeah, he didn't exactly look thrilled with that.

Here's what I don't understand.

As with everything that has been closing lately, no one cares about whatever it is until it's going away. I hadn't heard anyone point out DCA's Tower specifically before all these rumors came about. No one was talking about it. Now it's "OMG IT WAS MY FAVORITE RIDE WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS DISNEY?!" It's night and day just so that you have a basis to complain.

Complaining for the sake of complaining helps no one.

But what do I know, you guys are just going to label me a troll for disagreeing with you and I'll step back into the darkness as always.
