Could have even worked at Theater of the Stars, similar to Pixar last year. Either run shows between BatB or just in the evening. The park needs the capacity this summer.
I agree except that the GOTG stage does seem to have some fairly large set pieces and may not be able to be struck and re-assembled for the next day. The theatre down by Rock & Roller Coaster probably could be used but I dont believe there was much in the way of seating there, although that could probably be put in if needed. I havent heard anything and probably wont for some time, but this is a cute show and I hope it does get extended somewhere!!! Marie

I don’t think Disney would put this in the theater by Rockin Roller Coaster because they host many events weekly in the theater.

You’re right, it’s current form would be difficult to switch out, but I think a screen and some basic effects would be effective. Sunset Showcase has no seating and wouldn’t work well for this show. However an Incredibles dance party could work nicely there. ;)

Unfortunately it’s too late to second guess this. The steel is rising (quite high) in Epcot and they need to make GotG appear to “fit” so when 2021 rolls around, we won’t even bat an eye.

The music is the star of the Guardians movies. Newfound appreciation for old songs. Not songs that were getting played everyday. A dance party seems appropriate. At least this one will have guaranteed good music that all ages will appreciate. Who was playing "Hello Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra 4 years ago?

The show is surprisingly not terrible.

I think it also gives us additional insight into how they're going to implememt the whole "Quill visited Epcot as a kid" story for the ride. I'm guessing the UOE building is going to be themed as cultural outreach for Nova Corp/Xandar.

When we argue about thematic fit, generally that's the issue, not the show or attraction itself. They did a good job with Mission Breakout and Frozen Ever After, they're just in weird locales. I have little doubt that Guardians of the Universe of Energy will be a great ride. It's just poor placement.

I think you may be right, but the problem with that is it would better fit WS than FW (not that I think it really works in either).

Saw it in person tonight and I will take back my initial negative comments, it's a fantastic show! Great songs and super talented performers. Thematic clashing aside, it's a great addition for the summer (probably better than the growing list of nobodies they have performing in the theatre throughout the year)! Would I go out of my way to see it, likely not. But it was a fun way to kill time before fireworks. Great job to all on the team!

I also witnessed this spectacle last night. And yes, the theme of the show is ridiculous considering the purpose and intent of the rest of the pavilion. I, however, also have to at least give a nod toward the talent and effort of the performers. They were very, very good. And the packed stadium, including those that were standing and dancing because they couldn’t get seats, were loving the show. Unfortunately for the purists, this is pretty much like Thanos driving a stake through the barely beating heart of the dream that was EPCOT Center.

The thing is though, it's no louder then the summer concerts or concerts done during the festivals.

And it's really no different than other cover bands they used to have in the summer ... same thing just toss in Guardians characters. But I actually thought the show was kinda fun. Wrong park and place but not the worst thing in the world. I do like the music used though, that could be why. And the band seems talented. It's better than the dance-off thing they tried to peddle in Anaheim and now Paris.

I just double posted but who cares? I liked it too. I'm trying not to dwell on the eye-rolling backstory, lol. The performers are very very very talented. They make it work. And I like the music. It's actually fun. Wrong place though. I mean they at least try to explain why they're at Epcot. It's not the absolute worst. Ouch. I actually said that ... but it was a fun show.

Very much agreed! I was pleasantly surprised. It's nothing AMAZING but it's a fantastic little show, with, as you said, talented performers. Great songs also. It's no different than cover bands performing 60-00s hits. It's probably better.
