Wouldn't the "cheap out" solution have been to just leave Tower as it was? If you think this is cheap, that would have been literally free
No, because leaving the attraction alone does not address any elusive goals within Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! delivers a franchise attraction quickly, at reduced cost with an opening near simultaneous to the opening of the film. The attraction does what John Lasseter failed to do.

At first I thought those white tubes were more pipes. Like maybe the pipes actually work and they would shoot water out occasionally. Wouldn't that be awesome! And then I realized they are just the same old photo bars for the photo op. I guess they ran out of glitter for those?

I actually think the building looks pretty cool. I wouldn't want it in DHS because I love the look and feel of Hollywood Boulevard, but I have no great love for the DCA "theming" overall so this doesn't bother me in the slightest.

No, because this gives them the boost of a "new attraction" without having to actually build a new attraction. It would be like if they re-costumed/re-skinned all of the pirates and painted the sets to look like Asgard and advertised it as the new 15 minute long Thor Attraction. Cheap. DHS' Tower is better suited to this re-theme than DCA's, and the attraction fits the theme of DHS as a park whereas it doesn't with DCA. This should have been in Florida.

I said nothing about the value of the posts. Just the overwhelming quantity. And so many saying exactly the same thing. After a while, it's not a discussion or a debate or a statement of opinion. It's lobbying.

Stop coming over to comment in the thread then. All threads are full of repetition. Get used to it.
And I thought the Frozen Ever After thread was terrible with the amount of hate it gotten when it replaced the original Norway attraction at Epcot.

Both of you are acting like this

No one's fighting. Someone had (or has) an issue with me repeating myself, despite the fact we all are, and I responded.

I love how as soon as one person (in the last case, myself) compliments the look of the building with an optimistic outlook, the angry mob of doom and gloom comes and rains on my parade.

I get that you don't like it. I got it the first time. The second time was unessessary but maybe you felt like repetition was needed to get your point across. The twentieth time was just overkill. Let those of us who want to think of M:BO as a positive thing think our way and stop pointing out that you think the pipes look like death. They're just pipes.

Anyways, I really hope that black strip is not the final look because it looks bad and incomplete. It reminds me of the off-centered wall of Club 33.

The more I look at the colors, the more I'm reminded of Tomorrowland, as others have stated.

I'm pretty sure that would be the not doing anything option which they were doing for years. It actually worked pretty well compared to this dumb plan.

The cheapest solution was to re-skin Tower Of Terror instead of building anything new. Even cheaper was to only spend a few months on it, slap on some paint and attach a bunch of random pipes and junk to the façade and call it a day. So basically they choose the cheapest and fastest solution for this already cheap project. The only people that win are the bean counters and a few clueless people. Disney and Marvel fans deserve better.

The black is in the model, it's the final product. They are clearly trying to break up the building a bit more, make it look like two slender halves.

It looks like it's colored in a little, no? I'd have to take another look. I can see that it's black, but not jet black like it is now. I'll look again.

You know, the black strip is one of the few things I like about it. Breaks up the clutter into more deliberate* shapes.

*I use the term "deliberate" loosely here, considering this all looks rather thrown together.

This is also tame compared to when Frozen replaced Norway years ago. It gotten so much backlash that multiple threads were created. Did you see the amount of replies those threads gotten before it opened?
