Off-ish topic, but to be honest that's a big reason why I don't like the use of GotG for DCA in general. There are so many Marvel characters that could have cool rides that there simply won't be room for even if there was an endless budget, so why not save GotG for Orlando as one of the few that can be used there? And then expand DCA with some of the big Marvel names (and if they truly were dead set on overlaying the tower, they could have chosen a character/movie that could at least fit in with the area thematically because it doesn't completely take place in outer space).

Agreed. If anything, they should have used Captain America for Hollywood Land, as others have stated. They could have made up some BS story of how Steve went to Los Angeles for a mission or whatnot.

I would also re-privatize the company
Impossible. Disney is the world's biggest media company. The government would never allow it.

Of course Iger regrets nothing he has no personal stake in the company. He's just milking it for all it's worth and then will exit with a nice golden parachute and leave the mess for the next guy .
He's made the stock soar and made billions for the company. As a stock holder I'm very happen with him. I'd be worried that the next guy messes it up.

You don't happen to post as Indyfan over on MiceChat do you? If not, look him up. You have remarkably similar arguments.

After selling ABC and Marvel and major corporate downsizing would it still be? Besides when has the government ever cared what corporations do. Hell, if they really cared why is every regulation in the book being thrown out? Corporations own the government not the other way around.

Of course Iger regrets nothing he has no personal stake in the company.

As of December 2015 Iger owned $8.9 million in company stock, so I would say he has a pretty sizable personal stake in the business.

It's cute the way some Disney fans have this naive view of how simple it would be to manage a complex global organization like The Walt Disney Company. Some of them seem to think that they have infinitely more knowledge on how to decisively build and operate a $150 billion corporation, while keeping the board, stockholders, and customers happy, than either Iger or Eisner who are both considered to be hugely successful in putting Disney at the top of the multimedia conglomerate pile. The very idea that valuable assets like ABC and Marvel are easily disposable, therefore inconsequential to Disney's continuing financial and creative success, is just incredible. It's almost like when a certain loudmouth American businessman claimed that he alone could "fix" the nation's political system.

Notice the steep huge rise after buying Marvel / Star Wars. I should have bought $100 worth in 1979 when it was .97 cents a share.

You plan on buying up all the stock? Or do you own a magic wand?
What I would like is stronger anti-trust laws so there will never be another corporation "Too big to fail" and there would not be a handful of corporations owning everything..

Am I the only one that doesn't think it's not bad? If I wanted to see a tall Art Deco or mission style building I just go to Los Angeles. The original facade was ugly with the big purple stain.

This one kind of makes it seem like a big sunset in the background and I don't mind all the pipes. I rather they add more to add depth and detail like the model.

It's weird and different
