How do you find something I wrote 5 years ago when I don’t remember what I did 5 minutes ago?!
How about the doodles from 2018 and 2019 which, aside from a few bits to keep secrets, were mostly accurate!

Also since you're here... do you have any idea if the moon was originally planned as something else? It's so poorly done that it's hard to believe it was always the plan.

rode today. some of my thoughts would go like this:

I enjoyed the queue, the whole look and feel. I like the way queues are sort of broken up into smaller rooms. I found the Galaxarium was rather well done. I really like info (story) being presented in the queue instead of having it in a preview room (I imagine that timing will change when LL starts so the loop could get boring but timing on the loop was perfect for us). I also found everything in the queue interesting enough.

I did feel they might have tried a little too hard to make the 'story' in the queue try to present this as an Epcot pavilion, but I guess that was the point.
to me.
The ride itself is fun enough, the feel and movement was new to me. We had 'One Way or Another' as the song for our journey. I imagine the ride will have a great re-rideability factor as there is just too much going on. I really could not hear some of the dialog and I really could not keep up w/ what I could make out. Personally, I really did not enjoy the ride/movement (and that could have distracted me from the dialog).

I am over 50 and some rides can get to me. I was fine for Velocicoaster when I rode during the previews for that, but the movement here, when the cars are facing in while the coaster is moving through a curve, well, that did not sit well with my stomach. I felt they overused that move anyway Sure, it was what felt unique to me, but I think they just use that move way too often.

To me, it was sort of like Everest when it is going backwards and climbs that hill, that can make me feel a bit ill as well, but that only happens the one time on Everest. Not sure if I will ride again, time will tell, but I can see how/why the ride will be fun for many.

About the use of screens, some of the screens worked for me, some just seemed rather bad to me.

I thought it felt a lot like Cobras Curse at Busch Gardens. The spinning Although controlled doesn't feel controlled. My wife loved it(gets nauseous on rockin roller-coaster). She said she felt weightless and didn't notice much of the turning of the vehicles. I get nauseous on Everest, and did feel the turning and this could have made me nauseous but I just tried to look as straight as possible and not look at all the screens. To me it's definitely the most thrilling ride at Disney, however it's a very fun, and must do adventure. The big show stopping star treky scene in the pre-show was ok, I wasn't thrilled or maybe I was looking the wrong way? I don't know. But the RotR star destroyer reveal to me definitely tops it.

Expect changes in regards to the vehicle rotations. They MAY have already been implemented but they are addressing it since enough people didn't feel too well after riding.
I hadn't even thought they might do this... I guess this sort of answers how real the motion sickness issue is.

If they're doing this now... in, say, two years, are we likely to see the one unique element of the coaster almost entirely removed, or perhaps alternating green and orange trains?

Wait, I was just acalled a hater when I said this was a seemingly real issue.

Probably because you have been complaining about this ride since long before it opened and even now haven’t actually been on it.
But I was totally right that the were saying this would have AAs, show scenes, and all sorts of stuff that was just not happening.

I also was the one saying the motion sickness was bubbling up. I was told I was wrong. And here we are with changes being made before the ride opens to the public.

Even I think Hawg is quite a bit too relentless and lacking of nuance in his criticism of WDW.

So it’s really bad that he seems to have turned out to be right on this, huh?

If, indeed, they are already tuning down the primary selling point of the ride, that will be the second time they built a very expensive ride on that side of Future World without understanding it would make a lot of people ill. That’s a HUGE indictment of the foresight and engineering abilities of the designers and executives.

It was pretty well documented by those actually in the know that this atttaction would not have AA’s. You didn’t guess that on your own you just repeated accurate information from insiders.

There is no confirmation that substantial changes are being made.

Wait... so someone repeated others' information, read a bunch of ride reports, and then claimed credit for "being right" about something they have zero first-hand knowledge about? WE MUST TRUST THIS PERSON IMPLICITLY FROM NOW ON!!! 😂

I had to click "Show ignored content" to even know what you were responding to there. ;)

I'm really not seeing that in reality. This is nothing even close to the Mission Space situation, and we have very very few reports of anyone getting sick on Cosmic Rewind. I expect very few, if any, changes to be made to the rotation.

I don’t get motion sick very easily. Can’t say I’ve ever felt the slightest twinge after Mission Space. But there was definitely a very slight uneasiness after riding Guardians. Nothing major. But I would not want to ride it multiple times in a row without some time in between (which should not be an issue seeing how popular it will be).

Unfortunately, WDW has a built in barrier that prevents getting on popular rides multiple time in a row without a substantial wait in between.

The first activation was the most fun. There are a couple of "Wow!" moments where the vehicle rotates in just the right way as to make you feel like you're floating in space. And it looks like the capacity could be upwards of 2,500+/hour. EPCOT needs it, especially with Test Track, Remy, SSE, and FEA averaging an hour of downtime each per day. That's a lot of lost activation capacity.

The second time through, I was much more aware of how the activation's show elements borrowed from existing Disney activations: "Okay, this is from Test Track. This is from Haunted Mansion. This is from Flight of Passage. This is from Space Mountain. This is from Expedition Everest. This is from Rock 'n' Roller Coaster..."

The on-activation audio is not able to convey any sort of dialog, plot, or jokes - it's way too noisy inside.

With the vehicle spinning, there's a decent chance of motion sickness. Star Tours and Mission: Space are the worst for me. This isn't that. But it definitely made me a little queasy. Two activations and I was done with coasters for the day.

In terms of activation experiences, VelociCoaster is substantially better. I'm not even sure how I'd play devil's advocate there to argue for GOTG. And, of course, the entire activation belongs at the Studios, not EPCOT.
You mentioned that EPCOT needed the capacity. I'm of the opinion that of all the parks, EPCOT needs capacity the least. What EPCOT needs is quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that this is a higher capacity attraction, but despite the downtime of other major attractions in the park, most of the rides are fairly efficient.
