Looks... fine? Some thoughts...

The queue is Guardians of the Galaxy Launch Pad, just as the concept art suggested.

It seems like the teleporter effect is similar, but not identical to the Star Trek Experience - the ST one was significantly more elaborate, removing the ceiling as well, which GotG doesn't seem to do.

What happened to the concept art of a giant window with the Guardians and their ship standing, life-sized, in front of the audience? I thought they would be using some sort of holographic effect similar to Gringotts to achieve that. Instead, we get the stars of the franchise on a television screen in the corner - and then more TV screens during the launch portion of the ride? I find that really surprising.

Its also really odd that nothing here has what I think of as the Guardians own aesthetic - that is, jury-rigged, barely functional industrial sci-fi. That's more present in the Guardians ride out in DCA.

Some people will never be pleased.

This looks fabulous to me. The type of roller coaster Disney should be building.
It is the type of roller coaster Disney is building. Over and over again. I kinda think BTM and, to a lesser extent, EE are the kinds of coasters they should be building, but to each their own.

And that clip of Star Lord discussing old EPCOT - I know that it was probably conceived of as yet another empty attempt to leverage nostalgia for dollars, but it really comes across as, "Ha ha, boy, we sure did ruin THIS park, huh? Oh well, its just a silly theme park."

The negativity around this is pretty astonishing. As a designer, you find approval from your audience in *laughter* more so than applause. An overwhelmingly amazing experience causes us to laugh at it, in an "oh my god this is amazing" kind of way. This 100% has that appeal. And the queue has a literal tribute to Walt and the EPCOT Film. The amount of people who will never be pleased is astonishing. I'm just grateful they were willing to even say the name "CommuniCore" or "Horizons". For a while after the Millenium you'd get shot for saying that kind of thing.

Agreed; I said the same thing either earlier in this thread or in another thread.

It's a coaster that's actually fully themed with things happening from beginning to end. Would some physical sets and AAs be nice? Of course, and I think Everest/BTMR are probably more in line with the ideal Disney coaster. But this is a vast improvement over other recent Disney coasters like Slinky Dog Dash and TRON.

I'd just like to see them build three or four (or more) dark/water/etc. rides for every one coaster.

I think most people have been pretty positive about it?

Not sure if you saw our early review, but this seems to sum up most people's impressions.

I will admit it looks like a great coaster for Disney. Looks like it will a fun ride. My only complaint and it's the same for all Disney coasters and it's the lack of G forces. Theming is a great thing for a ride but for me I need a physical side of a ride too.
