No one wants to talk about the absolute worst part of this ride?! Terry Crews + his HORRIBLE acting.
You find the plot of CR complex? A bad guy has a device you need to get from him and that's pretty much it.Hagrid’s ride doesn’t try to set up a complex plot. GotG does. It doesn’t need to - as I’ve said, a much simpler plot could have cut down on the very lengthy preshows and, if done well, provided a stronger emotional through-line.
If you emphasize plot, you get judged on plot.
Also, your math is way off. The later Potters cost about $200 each. And in any case, the budget is much more in evidence at Hagrids (it’s also 66% of GotG).
A you talking about the real trees, or those badly painted ones along that huge building? The thing people choose to ignore though for some reason? This looks like a fun, enjoyable addition.
That said, half a billion? Also Hagrid's - a roller coaster with a bunch of trees - $300M? Jesus.
The price comes from the two things in that building and the complex system that supports a track switch like Everest and then a split in the track followed by a merge. Oh and the 5 (I think) launch tracks. That’s before talking about the scenery.A you talking about the real trees, or those badly painted ones along that huge building? Don’t your u have to get up at 6:50 to have a chance to buy the ILL too?So have to get it up at 6:50 AM on vacation to get ready for the queue or pay lots of money to ride one ride it

You are being dishonest. You chose a movie made 20 YEARS AGO for your comparison. Adjusted for inflation, Philosopher's Stone would cost about 200 million. And you're straight up wrong about Order of the Phoenix, which cost between $150 and $200 million - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you mixed up pounds and dollars. Your argument is, simply, incorrect. You find the plot of CR complex? A bad guy has a device you need to get from him and that's pretty much it.
My math isn't way off, ok it's $10 million over but as people have changed CR's budget to half a billion ($50-80 million over it's cost), $10 million doesn't seem like an amount people care about. I said if you're SELECTIVE with your Potter movies it comes to $300 million.
Hagrid's ride = $300 million
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone = $125 million
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets = $100 million
Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix = $85 million
Three movies = $310 million
Wait, wait, wait are you seriously gonna sit there and tell me Harry Potter was made 20 years ago and not apologize for making me feel old? How dare you?You are being dishonest. And yes, GotG is unnecessarily convoluted. All the rigmarole about the Cosmic Generator, visiting the (screen-based) Xandalarian ship, the Guardians being... somewhere else is a lot of unnecessary and ultimately uninteresting extra narrative steps. A poster above likened it to fanfic, and it does play that way, with explanations for things that don't need to be explained - "Just repeat to yourself its just a ride, you should really just relax." Plus, by focusing on the plot that much, you highlight more fundamental problems with the ride, for instance the fact that the Guardians are a bunch of mercenary, disreputable thieves and outlaws whose interests momentarily aligned with the Xandalarians and not some semi-official auxiliary to the Nova Corps to be called at the first sign of trouble.
The biggest unnecessary convolution in the plot is right in the ride's name - why bother with the time travel element when it makes almost NO visual impact on the attraction? I expected lots of planets forming and psychedelic gas clouds among the projections, but there's none of that. That's one reason I suspect the plot changed late in production - the Cosmic Rewind element of Cosmic Rewind is non-existent.
Coaster with seven launches, fast switch track, two drop tracks, animatronics, themed queue, onboard sound and lights. This looks like a fun, enjoyable addition.

Not looking at any spoilers, but I am very curious...
About how long is the ride? Considering they said this would be one of (if not the) longest indoor coasters in the world, I'm curious about the length.
