We rode Tron in Shanghai and loved it for it's newness....went on it a few times in a row... our takeaway after processing was that is could have been much better but it's just too too short, and the outdoor portion kind of takes away from the experience... We rode Guardians a few times and the takeaway was much more positive... We loved it so much and can't wait to ride it again... despite having been back to the MK, we have not ridden Tron... since it is a clone, we feel like we have done it...

It's a launch coaster...I'm not saying it's not short but in comparison the velocicoaster is like 5 seconds longer. Most launch coaster are pretty short with exceptions like Hagrid which I think disney needs a version of...themed to star wars speederbikes perhaps

Nonsense. You completely contradict yourself too, when you say ... 'with exception'

if the launch portion had all been in the Game Grid, it would not have felt nearly as short...it is the outside portion that divides the ride into two parts...making it seem like it doesn't begin until you actually get onto the "Game Grid" which is then over after a couple quick turns... After seeing how the Shanghai version turned out they should have improved the experience instead of direct clone...and placed it on one of the other WDW parks...

Not only that, but some coasters get their thrills not from big drops or inversions, but speed.

It seems that when a ride vehicle goes very fast, it winds up that the ride is very short. I wonder what the connection is? 🤔

Should all launch coasters that feature speed as their main source of thrill include sections in which the ride slows down for 'scenes'?

I liked the fast parts of Hagrid's. The slow parts.... not so much.

Penguin Trek just sitting there twiddling it's thumbs....

Granted it's a family coaster. But, launches are it's thing..And the only theming is the start and finish..

Speaking on behalf of the Penguin Collective, we disavow our brand from being associated with such a bland coaster.

You're just upset that there weren't any mackerels at the end.

I agree completely. Coaster lift hills are pretty much the only part that adds length to coaster's ride time. Kings Island's "The Beast" is 7,400 feet long with a nearly four minute ride time. However, you spend half that time on two lift hills and so the true coasting part of the ride is only 2 minutes. Guardians provides a good ride time for utilizing launches, TRON not so much.

Velocicoaster is actually fun enough where you don't realize it's so short. To me, it feels "just right" length wise because every second is fun.

Tron though? I was waiting for it to really get fun & it never did. It's fun enough like any coaster can be but it's nothing special. Excluding Goofy, it's the most boring coaster at WDW.

Yeah, Velocicoaster is short ride-time wise, but the payoff is there. Velocicoaster gets better as it goes down the track. Tron starts strong and quickly loses momentum. You literally launch into a simple right turn and then immediately hit a brake run that actually slows you down lol

The problem with Tron is that it doesn't really do much outside of 3 helixes after the launch.

Without any close calls with glacier rock theming..Yeah, it's bland.
100% this. Even the promotional video seems odd. Why would penguins be going through snowy mountains with pine trees? Pine trees? Pine trees! They should have built more glacier rock and theme it to the penguins sliding around the ice. Maybe even a part where they splash into a pool of water.

Back on Tron versus Veloster coaster, I had no idea they were so similar in run time! I've been on both and always thought lots of coaster was several times longer and much more fun. Who knew they clocked in at just about the right time. It's got to be all the close calls and different elements that v-coaster is putting you through.

Tron is a one-trick pony. The launch. V-coaster keeps you guessing.
