"Today we unveil this iconic and masterful addition to EPCOT! Dating back to Walt's original vision for EPCOT, this full-sized Xandarian ship truly represents World Discovery in ways unimaginable just a few short years ago, thanks to the unique and imaginative efforts that only WDI can bring you. And I even wore this GotG shirt to show how immersive our storytelling is!" - Early draft of a future THEZach PR post.

Well I guess Disney can make a single color change feel like multiple color changes to me. Maybe it was repair, prime, paint and repeat makes it feel like multiple times, and if you want to call it one change that’s fine, but whatever they are doing, it’s taking too long.

This Guardians Project and the whole “reimagine EPCOT“ is taking too long. What a mess. All this work, for all this time, for something that will be……. Meh.

What will be longer? The pandemic, reimagine EPCOT or TRON and the WDW Railroad?
Have you ridden it, care to share how you know it's 'meh'?

Meh, applies to the entire “reimagine EPCOT“ project.

While there are a few things I think are good, like the points of light on SSE (excellent), the return of fountain with the spires, the return of the classic logos, and I am looking forward to Walt's statue.

The dirt piles in the middle; work that is seemingly going on forever; Moana's Journey of Water, sounds like a meh to me, especially in EPCOT.

Guardians sounds like it will be a good ride. I guess we will find out when it's open in two or three years ;) JK, I am sure they will be able to open in late 2022.

Holy hell. You guys argue over the dumbest stuff without a slight idea. The fact that you guys think this ride is delayed because of shoots is laughable. James Gunn and the actors have nothing to do with the delay.

for reference I’ve ridden it a million times and by a million times I mean none. I’m the first to call it out but good lord you guys are playing corporate politics for the sake of nothing.

souce: logic

all i said was that gunn didnt start shooting for the ride until October, so even if the ride was fully built out, it would have opened a little later than originally planned. Im super excited for this ride and finally seeing the ship being built out front is awesome. I think this is gonna be a pretty swell experience to behold in just a few more months

Also, all the actors don't have to be together to video their parts... unless they need to wrestle with each other for some reason. It's all blue screens.

You don't see that with Breakout, because Disney made their eye gazes match, and so, they *appear* to be together.

You want to see what happens when you film separate scenes and it is obvious the people are not in the same room with one another? Take a ride on Gringott's. Hey Bellatrix, what are you looking at? It's certainly not Voldemort you're looking at when you look over your shoulder.

Of course, same issue when characters have to interact with CGI characters, the ones doing post production have to make sure everything aligns, isn't that right Dr. Nigel Channing?

You forgot to reference the best eyeline match in all of WDW:

While this is true, there are many other factors going on here. 1) There's a worldwide pandemic still going on, making it hard for people to get together in the first place. 2) This ride calls for all of the guardians to be together to film. That means needing to balance the schedules of at least 3 actors (if they're only using the team from the first movie), who have all been trying to navigate work in the pandemic. I mean Chrisp Ratt went from filming jurassic park pretty directly to Guardians, so the main star wasn't even ready until they filmed it. I know it's big to hate on everything disney does these days, but i think how they went about filming the media for this truly made the most sense.
1) Sure but studios have been working around it efficiently at this point.
2) It’d entirely possible they could film the scenes separately.
3) Crisp Ratt is in World Showcase.

Can anyone give me a synopsis on the reasons for the negativity?
The main issues are:

1. The rumored story of the attraction makes no sense in Epcot.
2. The big blue box is a giant eye sore.
3. This is extremely delayed in opening.
4. The price tag for what is being delivered is potentially concerning. Especially given how other pavilions are being passed over, and it seems they are wasting money on unnecessary changes or overly expensive attractions. The budget could have been used better and more cohesively.
5. This is another IP shoehorn that doesn't match it's park or location.
6. The coaster concept seems ok but may be a bit boring in execution.
7. It sounds like this will be mostly screen based.
8. They keep repainting the outside. (This isn't a major issue itself. Rather showing there isn't communication between the teams or understanding of the park and it's story. So this is just a small example vs an actual major issue.)
9. A small handful preferred Universe of Energy. Though I think a larger portion don't like this replacement vs. wanting no replacement at all.

I think that summarizes most of the main points. 🙂
