The ride is very cute for what it is, and better than Maelstrom was...It would have been nice if the actual Frozen film had onle tiny line about it being in Norway...Then I would not have a problem with the fairytale characters in that pavilion...
But as a wehole, the ride is better...but a better fit for Fantasyland...

I like it too, especially since it succeeds in not feeling like an overlay. While I understand others' objections, I don't mind its placement in World Showcase. It's certainly done a lot to energise what was previously a rather unloved pavilion.

ETA: Before anyone rakes me over the coals, I realise that Maelstrom had its fans, many of them devotees. By "unloved", I'm referring to the feelings of ordinary guests, who didn't exactly go out of their way to see this attraction.

Roof membrane and flashing is at least 20 years old, assuming it was replaced when they rehabbed the panels in the 90's. If it wasn't then it's close to 40 years old and definitely needs to be replaced But in order to totally redo the roof everything would have to come off anyways.

Not that it means anything but all the concept art clearly shows panels, so I wouldn't discount them coming back.

In addition to the physical updates, the likely efficiency of the original panels was likely in the 6%-10% range when they were new off the assembly line. Current industrial panels are in the 35%-40% range. Considering the age of those panels, Im sure they were producing much less than listed 6% efficiency.

If the solar cells come back, I would expect them to be new versions, as the old would be virtual garbage by todays standards. Its basically getting 8x the energy production for the same area.

Great Ride, wrong location. I think that's a pretty good way to describe it. Same goes for Pandora, why isn't it located at the Studios?

The Studios have limited space. Would you want SWL at another park?

Frozen is PERFECT for Norway.
Rat perfect for France.
Coco perfect for Mexico
Poppins practically perfect for the UK

etc.

There is plenty of space at Studios. SWL wouldn’t have been affected.
Frozen is not perfect for Norway.

If only it could have fitted into Magic Kingdom.... you know, whilst they were building a new land from scratch...

It seems funny that the phrase "Not enough space" is used any to describe anything in WDW. I am reminded of Walt's quote; "We have the blessing of size! There should be no space issues at all other than any protected swamp area.

There is not room for every franchise everyone's suggesting these days.

We disagree profoundly on Frozen. Yes, it could have worked better at the MK. But they aren't ready to undertake MK 2.0 yet.

Crowd balancing is critical to MKs future.

They are strategerizing excellently. IMO.

Frozen in Epcot really accelerated the IP movement, one which I feel is shame for that park. Frozen would have been perfect at MK to balance the SDMT crowds in NFL, it also fits the Fantasy theme for the area. Frozen in the WS fits like OJ and his glove.

These are the areas I’m aware of earmarked for expansion as opposed to replacement;

But we’re severely off topic now.

Strange that almost everyone is excited for rat, poppins and possibly coco.

Epcot is changing. I'm fine with that.

That might be an over exaggeration, but regardless I understand not everyone thinks the way I do. Rat will be fine, Coco might not happen and Poppins is in flux, but let me ask, why does it always have to be an IP? Why not an original idea for an attraction. That is where I get a bit frustrated.

Because current management are bent on corporate synergy.

And he does tend to exaggerate.

Because Disney characters is what 98.85% of what guest's want.

Frozen wasn't released until November 2013. By this time most of NFL had already opened, and SDMT was well under construction. When they were planning this new land from scratch, there was no way anyone could have predicted that this then in development film was going such a smash hit.

Now it's a real shame that there wasn't any leftover ride space after the NFL expansion where they could have later put a Frozen attraction. You know, somewhere a former dark ride might have been that's now being wasted as a meet and greet?
