I really hope in my lifetime that they can right the ship at some point. Hopefully GotG won't be well received and someone with a brain gets in a leadership position at WDW Parks has the guts to go back to their roots. Sklar must be rolling in his grave at what IPcot has become.
Sklar is the one who lied and publicly attacked fans who didn’t like the character additions to “it’s a small world”.

Any information on what happened to the dinosaurs, vehicles and other elements from the Energy attraction?
Some of the smaller AAs were pulled out. There was concern if the larger ones could be moved.
To add, there were some pictures a while back that showed a couple of the Pteranodon's backstage at Disneyland with a sign saying they were from UoE. I can't find those pictures sadly but they were on Twitter.

Thank you both for the reply! Great some of the smaller dino's survived. Enjoyed the pics.

Marni1971, do you know if they attempted to remove any of the larger pieces or did their concerns prevent them from even trying? Surprised some of these weren't able to be added to the Dinosaur attraction at DAK.

Yeah, that would have at least added some extra flair to an attraction that could use it. Personally, it would have at least made me happy to know that they hadn't been trashed. I'm glad that at least some of the smaller ones were saved. Still, what a loss.

Obviously I'm not @marni1971 , but he mentioned something along the lines of the rubber skin being very prone to crumbling apart if they moved the larger ones. We haven't gotten word on what happened to the larger ones but I'm afraid we won't like the answer.

I wouldn't be surprised. It would depend on what they used for the skins, but things like foam latex start to dry out, crack, and eventually crumble with age.

@marni1971 do you know how long it was before they started gutting the building? And any word on the outcome of the larger dinosaur AAs issue? Also they better not have scrapped the traveling theater cars. Honestly I'd be fine as long as they kept at least one of them intact. They are some of the most ingenious creations from WDI and are a priceless piece of Epcot history. It would be heartbreaking if they scrapped them. I'm somewhat afraid of the answer...

The problem with trying to save really large things like one of the traveling theater cars is that you have to find someplace to store them. They've saved things in the past like the old gondola vehicles, but those UoE cars were huge and aren't really of any aesthetic value. They were definitely technological marvels in their day, though.

I’m with you on that. Sadly I believe, but can’t comfirm, we won’t like the answer about either. Especially since the cars drive and power systems were shot and the tech was old. In 2017 you still had to manually drive a car using dials and follow a series of analogue meter displays to find the wire.

They started removing items from the building in the days after it closed.

Wow. I didn't think they started emptying the building that quickly. What @geekza said definetely makes sense, so I can understand that outcome, although it's extremely unfortunate. Obviously I don't know how they are laying out the queue for GotG in the 1982 building, but based on what you've said about the layout, then it will be a complete waste of space. There's no need for that nuch queue and preshow, it's a huge building. I'm hoping that maybe they will have a few show scenes in the old building before the launch into the gravity building. Only time will tell. (And perhaps Martin ;))

Martin can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he said much earlier in the thread that it's almost all queue with a couple of pre-show rooms and the loading/unloading area.

Yeah, I looked back through the thread and he pretty much said exactly that. I've seen a few early mockups online, but I'm pretty sure they weren't drawn by insiders, and they were created close to a year ago. Although they seem fairly close to what Martin has said, so I don't know how accurate they may be. Things can definitely change.

Also, I just realized that in the exterior concept art for the 1982 building that has been shown publicly, you can clearly see what I think is the little triangle (water pump) that had the UoE signage on that still there. I guess there was a change of plans as they tore it down...
I just hope they don't drastically change the front of the pavilion. I know it will obviously look different, but hopefully they will rebuild the front with the same, or at least similar, angular design from the original.

If you pay close attention you’ll notice that triangular building is actually not in the concept art. At first glance it might appear to be, but look closer.

I mean, the general shape of the building will remain because it is what it is. I don't think that there's any chance that the exterior theming will resemble the original at all, though.
