Pandora and Toy Story Land aren’t perfect, but many of the worst fears about those projects simply didn’t come to pass; they are beautiful areas.

Pandora can be considered flawless. It's majestic with wonderful scenery and has 1 awesome ride, 1 good ride and one of the best restaurants in WDW. That isn't probably the case with Toy Story Land actually. The land has numerous problems that had been voiced from its initial announcement like: No shade or cover from the rain, low capacity for both of the new rides, one way in and out leading to congestion and Woody's Lunchbox having only 2(!) registers. Ah and no gift shop. From a theming perspective it looks great and if there hadn't been for the budget cuts it would look even better.

Pandora and TSL show us that Disney is capable of creating something truly awesome with GoTG.

Other than the shade, all those problems will be solved when the excitement of the new land dies down in a few years too. Toy Story Land is pretty great for what it was meant to be and accomplishes its goals nicely.

The only real faults are the lack of shade and the lack of a playground or carousel for small children. Everything else will sort itself out with time.

It’s all in the eye of the beholder I guess, because I found it really beautiful, and much more impressive than the old Tower of Terror exterior, which I always thought paled in comparison with its Florida counterpart.

The main issue with MB is that the new tower does not blend in or fit in with any of the surrounding areas in the park whatsoever at all. It ruined pretty much all the nice sight lines that ToT offered when seen from the backlot area, Hollywood or Buena Vista Street and even from Grizzly Peak/Condor Flats looking ahead to Carthay Circle. The MB tower currently fails to fit in with anything else in the entire DCA park. It's about as bad as the Sorcerer's hat or Mickey's hand & wand that were in the Studios and EPCOT.

As garish as this new GotG building could potentially be, at least it is still possible it can fit in with the futuristic themes and buildings of the surrounding Future World buildings. I'll defend it since none of the Future World buildings ever blended in with World Showcase's. But they were at least still beautiful or visually appealing or pleasing to the eye to look at from across the lagoon in WS. Still holding out hope for this GoTG building to do the same.

It won’t look anomalous after the rest of Marvel Land is built. Even now, it stands at the edge of the park and doesn’t really interfere with the look of Hollywood Land. I’m probably in the minority, but I think it looks great (I don’t prefer the ride itself, however).

Has the Guardians Tower begun to look any better as the paint ages in the sun?
Everything Disney builds looks gaudy as all heck until the paint bleaches to its final hue.

The theming is great. But, if the problems are going to remain short-term, remains to be seen.

Tell that to CarsLand. 6 1/2 years later, people are still running at rope drop for fastpasses or to the single rider line. Typical standby queue is nearly always around 90 mins or longer and FP's are sold out by 10 am for the day.

This is Disney's problem with US parks. They can't expect to only build a new E ticket once a decade without causing ridiculous problems. They're rectifying somewhat with all the projects going on at the moment, but dang they're about 20 years late. They rode the nostalgia bandwagon far too long as they saved their coffers for all the new junk they're building, just for them to shave and cut costs on everything now... To even think they've got money problems is staggering to fathom.

Maybe it's faded just a shade now? I was just there this past weekend and didn't really notice it being much lighter really- it's still a major eyesore lol

Like you pointed out, the problem with Radiator Springs is that there needs to be another area in the park that receives a new E-ticket and another C or D-ticket. Since Cars Land opened, DCA has basically just redone/re-themed or re-skinned Soarin', Paradise Pier and Tower of Terror - they have not added anything new to the park since 2012. I am hopeful when the Marvel area finally opens in the next 3-4 years that Cars Land's crowds will finally taper off a bit.

Very true, but ... Waiting 10 years after an attraction has opened to be able to stand in a manageable queue is unacceptable to me. But hey, fastpasses... lol

Yeah, but this isn't any news E Tickets. A new B ticket and a new D Ticket. Plus an old D Ticket got an expanded queue. PLUS two new E Tickets and a D Ticket and a B Ticket (possibly a C depending on how the Cars show turns out but it sounds like a B to me) are all coming next year.

I think it is safe to assume that the comparison to Cars Land is unwarranted. And that crowds are gonna be better dispersed around the park in a couple years compared to how they are now.

A certain not to be named, known to be incorrect, site is claiming as a fact the gravity building won't be themed. Honestly, seems to be more of an emotional response to counter the attacks on that site's story about the Yeti, attempting to defend their "knowledge".

Interesting. I think that it is a swipe back at a certain Disney "Newscast" (;)) I saw the other night where a discussion was had regarding the entrance to SW:GE from the Star Wars Resort. The individual speaking called out an unspecified Disney fan site for incorrectly stating that the Star Wars Resort would have a path that leads directly into the park in-between the two show buildings. I peruse enough of the unofficial fan sites to know which one was being called out (the site that shall not be named). I was waiting for some type of response and of course it happened, blatantly shooting down a theory proposed on a different show of that same Disney Newscast. Such wonderful antics!

I am aware of one plan where it's a painted box and another where it is (garishly?) themed. I don't really care which type of feces they select between those two. Maybe there's an option 3 which included dynamite?

I didn't mention them by name, because I feel that is undignified, but you are correct. I hate the fact that the site in question just carelessly drew a line on the permits and stated that it was a "walkway". I scoured the Permit published here by @danlb_2000 and pull from these forums, which are undoubtedly a god send to the Disney Fan community with the wealth of knowledge here. And I always cite them as a credible source in the Newscast. And after careful examination of the permits, I deduced that the site in question was categorically wrong about that being a walkway from Star Wars Hotel to Galaxy's Edge.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will the Guardians building be bigger or smaller than the massive Soarin hangar?
