I don't get the sentiment. That building has always been ugly. The backside was supposedly unthemed to blend into the Anaheim hotel skyline. Fail. Just ugly. The painted lightning scarring on the side was Six Flagish. Fine if you think it is obnoxious and garish now but at least it is interesting and not drab. I don't love it, but it is an improvement.

Again, I don't go out of my way to look for it. Even in DCA, the only place I actively noticed the tower was RSR.
The sightlines of Grizzly Peak is awesome in Cars Land. The Cadillac Mountain range is unimaginable. The “fortress, warehouse, power plant” view doesn’t ruin the immersion, but it certainly does not look as good as the Tower of Terror would have originally.

The only other place in DCA that I remember it being odd is in Buena Vista Street. It's not the best situation, but what I find troubling is that people constantly keep complaining about it when DCA is still so much better than HWS with or without its construction.

GOTG is an epic attraction; the exterior gets a bad rep as especially at night, it looks really cool, but its placement is so damning to the resort that it just sticks out like a sore thumb. That is why it should have been a new build and not an overhaul, as ToT is unique with its height. It also got rid of a ride that while awesome, was nowhere near as good as it’s Florida counterpart. It also will be in a future Marvel Land; which unfortunately does not fit the California theme, but it seems that they, unfortunately, are breaking away from it anyway.

I actually agree with this. When you place the DCA ToT next to WDW's....there is simply no comparison in its' detail.

This is what is so great about Tower of Terror. Its California architecture works (or worked in the case of DCA) from anywhere it is (was) visible within the three California-themed parks.
I felt it was out of place in DCA and made statements to that effect well before any rumor of a Guardians takeover. It being visible from inside of Cars Land knocks that land down a little bit for me relative to other highly immersive lands.

@carouselof on twitter is claiming that this attraction will still be about "Energy". Can anyone back this up?
His(?) info has been spotty but I thought I heard on here that was the case. Even going as far with the proposed name of "Infinite Universe" to keep "universe" in the name.
However, that tweet and the others about WoL being made into something to support both festivals but have something else at other parts of the year is interesting. More interesting is the "Good stuff" with Imagination.

That source is totally unreliable. They said when Stitch first closed that the ride was completely gutted... then it reopened seasonally.

They only know as much as a typical cast member knows, namely, they only have a scoop on info for their particular job if management gives them a heads up.

I never understood why the lightning scarring at DCA was purplish.

The remnants of that part look terrible on the new Guardians Tower, though it's overshadowed by all the other terrible looks. Before the ride opened I assumed they would have explained it away as Rocket using his bazooka thing to blow open the front of the fortress. Didn't even do that. Now it's just an awkward jagged part for no reason.

Agreed, though I always thought it was even worse from Condor Flats. The newer trees as Grizzly Peak absorbed this area helped somewhat. Also having the giant scary looking building next to A Bug's Land was really egregious, but A Bug's Land is bad anyway.

About all they improved over our ToT exterior was sign placement. Ours makes no sense.

Agreed, until corroborated by someone on here I don't use his info anymore.

Flight of Passage is a very entertaining ride/experience that uses the over the top sci-fi ip to educate on keystone species and their effect on ecosystems in a way that feels natural.

I see no reason to think it is impossible for Gaurdians to include a real world educational aspect integrated naturally into the experience as well. I get being nervous about this, but Disney pulled off Avatar in Animal Kingdom beautifully while educating about real world animals. They can pull this off.

If nothing else, a movie with a love of 80s culture and a sense of wonder about space exploration isn't the worst fit for Epcot.
