Also, International Gateway will be redone, but I do not know those details.
So I'm really curious about this part of the rumors flying around. Haven't heard anything as to what or why they would need to change the Int.Gateway.

Could it have something to do with those rumors about connecting Caribbean Beach Resort and it's future DVC to Epcot by boat? Is it possible to connect to and expand the canal that runs behind the southern pavilions and and then go across Buena Vista Dr. to connect it to the CBR lake? Discussions about connecting CBR by boat assumed it would come in on the East side of WS at the service canal by China, but that presents all sorts of problems (boat service area, propane barge for the show, having to build another park entrance, etc)

Another possibility would be reconfiguring that area to hide or make room for a new show building being built in France...

I can't think of any other reasons this area would need to be redone.

ETA: Just thought of another possibility, maybe they're gonna move the LaL tombstones from the front entrance to the old tram loop at Int. Gateway.

If it happened now, yes. Although it's not happening now. Which could be a blessing. Or maybe it'll happen regardless when the plans are revisited.
So is the new overall idea to keep the pavilions science and history minded while using IPs as the host? I can see this happening to everything but the land and spaceship earth pretty easily.

If you want to get technical, Dory is voiced in the Finding Nemo attractions by Jennifer Hale. The point about Ellen being forever known as the voice of Dory still stands, though.

Off topic, but Jennifer Hale is one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I hadn't realized she was Dory there. Of course, I'm not sure if I've ridden the thing. It's been a while. :D

ETA: Reading through this thread, I have to wonder how many sock puppets there are. It's a good thing there is no limit on the ignore list.

From what I understand, they would be relocated elsewhere on property. That program had a 15 year lifespan from when you signed up. The program did not end until mid 2000s, so many folks still have years left. According to the contract Disney can relocate them but not destroy them until the 15 years is up from the last person who signed up.

As always, if I'm mistaken, someone please correct me.

Edit: Martin beat me to it! :)

It's 20 years not 15.

That was debated but I believe it was dropped. For now anyway.

I think Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy should both be dropped from consideration at Epcot... there's a difference between using the Nemo characters as "new hosts" at the existing Living Seas aquarium or using Donald Duck and and the Princesses as "good will ambassadors" at various World Showcase countries, and gutting the Energy pavilion and using the building to promote fantasy movie franchises that don't relate to the real world in anyway. Nemo, Donald Duck, and Frozen may "bend the rules" of the original Epcot Center concept but I can't see how Guardians of the Galaxy is anything other than "completely abandoning" the original Epcot Center concept

and I'm talking about the look of this building and the surround area being a a good fit for the "technology side" of Future World not the theme of Tron, this building doesn't really have anything to do with the movie

Hello everyone,

I wanted to make a dedicated thread to this rumor. The Energy pavilion is supposedly closing in September to make way for a ride based on Guardians of the Galaxy. Phase 2, which is not green lit yet. Will add another Guardians ride to the Wonders of Life pavilion. Please let me know if I need to update any of my information.
I dont understand why people are discussing guardians of the galaxy for with the contract with disney and universal Disney can not put Any marvel related rides in their parks so dont count on any marvel rides. DisneyLand can put marvel rides in their park for they are entitled to

Marni. Please tell us Impressions de France is safe.

Even if they were to build a Ratatouille in the French pavilion, I think they would have room behind the theater (2 attractions for France would be interesting). It could be nice if they created a walkway by the water in the below satellite map and build the ride on the backside of the pavilion. I am always on the fence if they should add more characters in WS but I think our little furry friend is a better thematic fit than Frozen in Norway.
