There's competing ideas. One is a reuse. One is a removal and replacement with a ride system that would be surprising in this park.

You've piqued my interest -- Is the ride system surprising because it is groundbreaking in some way? Or rather, is it surprising because it it's not a good fit for the park?

Most of Spider-Man's infrastructure was overhauled or replaced what... 3 years ago? And obviously Hulk 12-18 months ago.

And no wonder TWDC are upset with the appraisals. I know the parks in a mess but has Epcot really lost 2/3 of its value? Before inflation? I doubt it.
I don't think you understand. They want the value to be as LOW as possible. This is because of property taxes and how they are a percent.

There's a youtube channel I've caught a few times, I think it's DSNY something. Anyway, they stated that there's a rumor about Vekoma in talks with WDW about using a similar ride system as TRON in Shanghai.

Probably not.
Man... not that it was a particular FAVORITE, but the nostalgia and the ride mechanics of that ride always drew me to it.

If all this happens, the eastern half of Future World will now be completely removed from the original intent when EPCOT opened.

Yep, that's what it's called. I've watched a couple videeos, but I think the dude just takes rumours from here and photos from Blog Mickey site and @bioreconstruct on Twitter, and summaries them.

We've been talking about that vlogger in several other threads. It would be great if he got his rumors from here, because a lot of them get dubunked here. But he basically uses Jim Hill, the site we don't talk about, and Micechat. Among those three are a lot of really bad rumor mongering. They keep alive rumors which are no longer in play and rarely emphasize that much of their rumors are in the blue-sky phase. There are many many blue sky ideas that get floated around Disney Corp and only a small fraction come to fruition.

And in anticipation of D23 (Disney Fan Convention) coming up shortly, the rumors are spitting out hot and heavy. And the vlogosphere and the twitterverse are breathlessly passing around their unfounded rumors.

We have a bunch of insiders on this forum who check each other and also come back to let us know when a rumor has changed or died. It's all summarized here:

Yeah, I understand, so "grain of salt" etc. just thought I'd post as I hadn't heard anything recently about Vekoma possibly being involved with a project.

Not completely. I'd say that TT2.0 has a lot more WoM in it then did TT1.0. (That is by no means saying that it is remotely close to the optimistic feeling that WoM gave you, yet, but it could be). First, the building is mostly the same. Second, the idea of the future is certainly visible throughout the ride. Third, I believe that the current concept actually has it's roots in a proposed versions of the ride before Epcot Center even opened. It does feel very Future World. If they included more AAs in the first part of the track and actually built more of a story around automotive design from the past and moved into design and testing vehicles in the future, we would see the best of both worlds. Slow moving dark Disney AA ride and fast moving thrill ride. The ride would come full circle! (Yes, I meant to say that.). Then I would get that Future City view back that they had at the end of WoM. One of my most favorite and memorable parts of my trip from 1983.

I can't be bothered to read 340 pages all I want to know is are they building it and has the ride closed yet to be stripped out?
