Since Mysterious Island version of Beastly Kingdom didn't happen can you finally give details about that?
I did, many years ago.

Not as large or elaborate a themed building. Still pretty nice. JTTCOTE ride without the lava monster theme. 20K ride designed in from the beginning but with an option for it to be a walk through and add the ride system later if wanted.

I hope a GOTG ride of any sort doesn't come to Epcot - IP based rides can fit in Epcot if they are relevant to the location in the park and fits the parks original ideologies, Nemo is relevant in The Seas(as a major factor in the film is that they are in the sea), Ratatouille is quite relevant in France(as a major part of the film is the fact that they are in Paris), whereas Frozen doesn't work in Norway(as the Norway has no relevance in the film and it might not be set there), and GOTG has absolutely no relevance in anything to do with Future World(it would just be a ride, and Epcot needs an edutainment factor - the ride belongs in Hollywood Studios).

Agreed, TT 2.0 is very good (when it is working properly), but it is missing that extra 10% to make it really special. Perhaps an AA robot character that narrates you through the various tests would be better than the disembodied voices.
I think the pre-show vehicle building for Test Track 2.0 feels very EPCOT Center-esque to me. The ride itself feels a bit too sterile, but I think with a bit more playful narration (a la Horizons, World of Motion or the original Test Track) would make it better.

I'll try to find your old post but just tell me one thing. if the jttcote ride didn't have lava monster what would have been the theme/main creature?

If I interpret my Martinese correctly:

1. UoE was and wasn't and was and wasn't and was going to become a GotG coaster (new building built behind the current, which will be pre-show/queue).
2. But then its timeline was pushed back because the coaster was going to take longer than thought to construct.
3. So, Rat was pushed up the timeline.
4. But then, it seems nothing in WDW was going to get a big GotG attraction, not even UoE (for some unknown reason). So, the UoE re-do was in limbo.
5. But now, they're going with a different idea/IP for the coaster replacement for UoE, which means, it's not pushed back any longer. Both UoE and the Rat will construct contemporaneously, only, the Rat will be done earlier.

I think you are right, but I think they will still go with GotG, just not a coaster, maybe a different type of ride that is less expesinve.

I finally watched Guardians of the Galaxy (the first one) last night. Strangely, we had watched Martin's Universe of Energy Tribute earlier in the day (as part of my mission to get my partner interested in the parks through their history).

It really is a shame on two levels. One, it's hard to accept that they don't want to refurbish and maintain Energy. Two, I just don't see how Guardians fits at all. It would be better to redo Tomorrowland and make Guardians a featured ride or replace Rock n Rollercoaster. Guardians is an ok film, but it's not like it has any sort of message. I don't know why they need to shoehorn it into Epcot. I know I'm not saying anything new. Just feeling a bit melancholy about the fate of my beloved old EPCOT Center this AM.

It really is tailor made to slip into the Rock n Rollercoaster.

This is sort of off topic but what is the likely hood of this occurring; In TL, if Wreck-It Ralph replaces Stitch, would the TRON coaster go in by the speedway instead of at Epcot?

Per multiple insiders Tron coaster is not coming to TL in WDW. Some type of redo is talked, but not Tron coaster per say.
