But aren't Universal's Marvel rights somewhat limited to the pre-MCU comic book versions of the characters in question? Like, Universal can draw on the canon of Iron Man or Captain America that existed in the comics, but they can't use an obvious RDJ version of Iron Man or make a ride based on the events of Age of Ultron. I think that would be the biggest block to any cross park synergy - I'm sure Disney wants the Theme Park Universe to easily fit in with the movies, even if they have their own stories.

That was my original reading of the contract as well. That all of the characters were locked in their 90's approved style guides. Others have argued that the style guides are constantly updated and Uni has access to all current versions.

If Marvel wanted, they could provide access to MCU versions even if it wasn't specifically stated in the contract.

Big difference between what the Marvel license is worth and what the Marvel license is worth to Universe because they have infrastructure invested in it.

Marvel isn't worth hundreds of millions of dollars East of the Mississippi. No themepark operator would ever pay that, Disney or otherwise. Universal does however have hundreds of millions of dollars tied to that franchise in hard product.

It would be interesting if we knew the value of that Infrustructure since most of it is over two decades old.

Out of curiosity how would that be determined?

Recently and article came out in regards to Orange County Appraisers put value on three of Disney theme parks. It doesn't go Into detail wether the value is just an appraisal for land or the value of the park itself. We do that know Disney invests more on just building one new land when built and that most of that money is made back in tickets and guest spending because of these additions. I wonder how depreciation of these attractions are calculated.
When it comes to super hero island in IOA. Most of the structures are just big boxes with simple facades.

Obviously I have no idea but remembered the report when I read your above post

This is what was reported

"Guests visiting Walt Disney World often wonder just how much the property is worth, and thanks to a recent lawsuit, we have an idea of their market values. Orange County Appraisers have put a value of $437 millionon the Magic Kingdom, $446 million on Epcot, and $339 million on Disney's Hollywood Studios.Jun 14, 2017

Most of Spider-Man's infrastructure was overhauled or replaced what... 3 years ago? And obviously Hulk 12-18 months ago.

And no wonder TWDC are upset with the appraisals. I know the parks in a mess but has Epcot really lost 2/3 of its value? Before inflation? I doubt it.

Supposedly Orange County appraisers also did the same with other major theme parks in the area but I couldn't find that information.

I am seeing reports from sources unnamed that GoTG will be an entire land/section in Epcot that will encompass UoE as well as WoL.

Can anyone confirm the validity of such rumors? One attraction falling victim to GoTG in Epcot is enough, let alone two whole pavilions.

@marni1971 told us the original scope for UoE and GotG in EPCOT was to start with UoE, then have a phase 2 in WoL. However, I am pretty sure he stated that was off the table for now, and the current plan is for UoE to be the Que for GotG and a new building attached by walkway to UoE to be the new ride for GotG

So that may be someone with the old rumor
