I remember being kind of bored with the pavilion when I was 11 back in 1983. I loved the dinosaurs, but the post-dino film bored me to tears. The next time I took the ride, it had been changed to Ellen. I thought it was funny, the dinosaurs were still there, and the middle film wasn't dry. I was okay with Ellen.

marni1971, I don't know whether to kiss you or curse you. I watched your new video about the pavilion just the other day. Seeing the original ride as an adult made all the difference. The moving screens in the beginning; the slow, dramatic reveal of the dinosaurs; and the finale with the Tron-like animation combined with the mirrors blew me away. (The middle film was still dry as dust.) Suddenly, watching a video of Ellen shot last year brought into stark contrast what had been lost when the ride was changed. Suddenly, something that originally had been made with care and an eye for the artistic became cheap.

I still hope it's open long enough for me to see the 1982 dinosaur AA's one last time in early September. But it it isn't, I won't shed a tear. The Ellen version needs to go.

That song was not good, but really Rachel Bloom is super funny and talented. Crazy ex-girlfriend is very funny in a dark twisty way. But yeah, she love crass !

Ellen is one of many reason the current pavilion is being retired.

Its being retired but then they can't seem to come up with a concrete replacement. As it is imo they'll be lucky to get something open by 2021 in that space.

Any update on this? I'd imagine that the huge second guessing of the Guardians IP in Florida is really looking good for Epcot.

I think it's safe to assume Energy might have a internal closing date? Could we have official info at D23?

Well they've been messing around with Stitch for over a year and we're no closer there, so I'm not holding out hope. Even when they announce easy builds like Toy Story, they aren't groundbreaking for a year.

I get the impression that they have been trying to figure out their IP strategy as much as deciding on the attractions themselves.
