Dreamfinder = scientist from SEA. The story = a "Rip in Space and Time/Escaped Dreams to Nightmares" style premise. In this arm-chair imagined version Dreamfinder monitors our progress via well-themed screens located on our ride vehicles, aka Dreamobiles. Dreamfinder = Paul F Tompkins.

So basically the plot of the Figment 2 comic, right? Evil Dreamfinder sort of idea (Looked it up, he's Doubtfinder). I'm all for using the comics as the base for a new ride. They surprised me with how good they were. I actually bought 1 and 2 in hardback when I was down there last year.

Where were you able to get Figment 2?

Is the ride closing at 5 PM now? I tried to head over today for a nap- er, a ride right at 5:00 and was told they were closed for the night.

yeah pretty much. Toon-like Steampunk in aesthetic but without the Evil Dreamfinder. I deleted my post so that I could expand on it more later but yeah that's pretty much it. I haven't read the comics but it sounds like it would be a good resource. As for Dreamfinder I'm thinking instead of an AA WDI should just give Paul F Tompkins a call to record some footage.

I don't know that we'll ever see Wonders of Life come back in any form. None of the attractions in the original iteration kept the public's interest strong enough to survive. I do agree that if they were to try and bring back the pavilion, Inside Out could fit.
I don't see why considering the importance of Healthcare these days.

If Disney is so mandated to use only movie characters in pavilions from now on, then they should do the only logical thing and MAKE FIGMENT AND DREAMFINDER: THE MOVIE. Classic, 2D animation please.

Live action Dreamfinder and "real world" settings, with Figment and anything imagination-based 2D animation. I'd probably do it that way, but I'd take whatever I can get.

Media-mixing animation hybrid film based on the comics. The "real world" is CG animation, Figment and the Imaginary Realm are 2D animation with plenty of Deep Canvas-style backgrounds. Elements of stop motion crop up during a "Falling through the Rabbit Hole" sequence when Figment and Dreamfinder first get sucked into the portal as well as in the Nightmare Nation. Clockwork Control's robots are swapped out for the nightmares with the Chairman's desires to have Order resulting in a being insistent on using fear as a control. And plenty of references to other classic Epcot attractions.

We rode Energy last year... my son insisted as a joke, he wanted to drag all of us on it. So the whole family went, endured the whole hot mess of a ride until the very end... when the ride broke down and we were evacuated.

If I never ride it again, this seemed an appropriate end for the attraction for me.

I rode it last month thinking it may close before the next time I get back. I have to say I found it a little painful aside from the dinosaur diorama which I appreciate more for nostalgic reasons than anything. I don't think they should abandon the energy theme but I certainly think they can do much better than what is there right now.

I'm actually amazed that Bill Nye allows himself to be associated with the attraction in it's current state. He takes a very soft, middle-ground approach to Global Warming in the attraction, which is totally NOT his position right now.
