Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

This entire thing is just so stupid. They've got a whole movie-themed park right next door that needs as many new attractions as it can get and is a completely appropriate place for a GotG ride. Hardly anyone would be complaining if they just built a new ride there. I'm at least glad our ToT is safe, but seriously, who keeps making these bone-headed decisions?

It will still fit with FW and Epcot. I'm not a fan of losing original Epcot, but in this case, Energy needs the help. As does Imagination.

I am very skeptical that it could be made to fit, but I shall keep my fingers crossed and keep referring back to this post.

It's interesting that so many people say the Epcot has to change because it's so hard to keep up with technological advancements, but even if you accept that that is true, it's only a small part of what the plaque talks about.

They should just use the Epcot Utilidors to build this attraction. It's right next to Energy so could be accessed from the exit side Energy. It isn't being used for anything right now that would free up Energy and Wol for a true Future World enhancement.

Ok, I know it is a stupid idea, but so is GoTG in Future World!

To me, experiencing the awesome power and grandeur of nature and the ability to traverse land and sea is still possible through The Land and The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilions.

Anyone in the know, do you think we will find out about most of what's coming to Epcot at the next D23 or will it be like how DHS reno is being split into D23 15 and 17. From the sounds of it most of this appears ready to be announced fairly soon.

WDI is responsible for "menu planning" in conjunction with Burbank's profit, attendance, and Capex spending goals.

George is just the guy that keeps the place running.

Well I figured that but I guess the first person who came to mind is George K, as people assume George is a cheap skate padding his bonus (as I've read a couple different times) by cutting WDW budgets.

The best we can hope for is Figment and Dreamfinder once again being featured in a great Journey into Imagination ride. Fits right into "IP-tainment" since Figment is a very marketable character as proven by the success of the comic series.

Figment was also featured in a few edutainment films in the 80's.

I've actually always had a soft spot for Ellen, and have always been a diehard fan of the music, but it's dated and needs an overhaul or replacement.

No one is denying that. What we are concerned about is if the replacement is an appropriate thematic fit.

It is clear Disney is departing from Epcot's message. If they make like a Comic Book themed pavilion that has a Guardians ride it could work. Again not as good of a fit as energy, but it can work a lot better than most people think.

That would be correct for things like logo napkins and custodial. I can only imagine if they let him make 10 figure spending decisions...

GotG fits the outer space part perfectly so it's a natural fit.
