This is one of my alltime favorite attractions and imo in the top 5 attractions that WDI has ever done. With that said it is in desperate need for a refurb.

What would you like to see in a GMR refurb?

As much as I love the Muppets I would not like to see them take over this ride. I would like to see the ride be overhauled but to keep the same theme.

Here is how I would do it.

Replace Foot light Parade- Gangster (Thats right no more Mary :fork:)

I would replace this with a scene depicting Thomas Edison's Black Mariah Studio. This is where the motion picture was invented so it should be in the ride.

Followed by having a scene with Singing in th Rain on one Side and The Jazz SInger (first film to have spoken words).

Gangster Scene I would keep but just refurb.
Western Scene Keep but refurb.

Alien: I would Keep but would double the amount of Alien AA's to make the scene more thrilling.

Indy: The same but refurbed

Tarzan: I would completly gut this area and extend the horror scene. I would have an actual scene with classic characters, Dracula, The Mummy, Franenstien, and if there are no contract issues maybe Halloween ( nothing goory because it is still Disney)

The rest of the rise is the same exept for the last room which was supposed to be the Wizards chamber but is just A Montage.

I would pay tibute to the only field neglected in the ride action. Maybe the ride vehicles could be surrounded by a stage on all sides depicting scenes from Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, French COnnection.

What would youlike to see?

I would keep most of the same scenes. It is a ride that is supposed to explore the golden age of Hollywood, and it does so quite well.

I would update all the AA's for a more realistic feel and perhaps add or change a few scenes (though I can't even say which ones!) to update a bit. But I would leave the theme and main meat of the ride the same.

I personally find this ride really creepy.. but then I'm not a huge fan of It's a Small World, either.
I think a script overhaul (as noted above) would be solid, but I don' think the scenes need to be changed as much as you suggest.. just some touch ups.

I don't really want to see a massive overhaul, I just want to see an updateed version/ better AAs. The ride is still great, just needs to get some TLC.

Mainly just upgrade the AAs to A100s (back in 1989 the Witch was the first A100) or at least add compliance. The Tarzan scene is a big lacklustre, Alien needs enhancing but apart from that just a general TLC session would be great. It dosn`t matter what movies are used - it`s the gendre that is important and all are covered. Except maybe a bit of horror as you said.

Don`t worry about the Muppets - they were to have gotten their own version of the ride, not take over the GMR.

Oh thanks Martin I always thougth the plan was to have them take over GMR but if they get there own version thats fine with me.

When I last rode the GMR a few months ago, the audience seemed to be perfectly happy with it the way it was. It'd surely benefit from the newer, more lifelike Animatronics, but no drastic changes are needed IMO.

A little less cheese in the script would make me happy. I like the general concept, and while the scenes need some new AA's, it's still a good attraction. However, there definitely needs to be script changes, as I think it's just waaaaaaaay too hoaky right now.

Unlike JC I never get a good guide, I would like to see them go automated and loose that part of the ride
