The gingerbread house will open to Guests at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16 and operate daily
from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31.

This is the gingerbread house's 11th year at the Grand Floridian.

Something new - they added very fine sparkles to the royal icing
that gives the appearance of snow glistening in the sun.

Enjoy!:xmas:

They used to have cute demos during the afternoons, too, right near the gingerbread house about making one at home and decorating it. The lady that decorates all the small houses they sell inside the store would hold the demo. My daughters really enjoyed it and wanted to see it a couple times. :ROFLOL: Not sure if they still do that...but it used to be about 1 pm.

Enjoy! Have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for the picture! It looks great, as always. Does anyone know when they will start taking it down? I arrive on January 1 and would like to see it while it is still intact.

I can't remember if the other resorts have anything like this so I have to ask do they? And if they do anybody have any idea when they'll be up? I want to do some resort hopping and see the decorations if they are there.

Polynesian has a much smaller ginger bread house. (like a normal size) I think it is on the 2nd floor by the entrance to the monorail. That one is always very cute! Also i know years ago Beach & Yatch Club had them too. :xmas:

Somebody already mentioned the Poly's display...the Contemporary has a really cute gingerbread and chocolate Pinocchio display on their lobby level - not sure exactly when it goes up....but we've seen it on Thanksgiving and Christmas trips. The Beach Club has a large gingerbread carousel that is neat to see - this used to be done in the Grand Floridian's lobby prior to the house being built there.....the Boardwalk Inn lobby used to have (not sure anymore) a neat candy and cookie amusement park display, and the Swan and Dolphin lobbies are beautifully decorated. The WL lobby, is, too.

Enjoy,
