Grand Avenue and Baseline Tap House

I was under the impression this is storm prep giving us a sneak peek...not the final product yet. I will reserve judgement until the Tap house is serving and the area is fully opened.

I expect if they were going to paint brick pattern on the "soundstage" housing Sci-Fi it would have started by now.

All that we are seeing atm is just hurricane prep, as soon as its all clear everything will get hidden away again to they can finish off.

Looks like Grand Avenue is almost complete except for the area I circled in blue. I wonder if they might put construction wall at the end of the street and open it before rest of the work is this area is done.

Scaffolding is going up in the Star Wars Land entrance. I assume this is going to be to create something that will go over the top of the entrance between the pillars.

I'm really liking how this is looking. Star-Tours' tatooine facade really needs to go, but I expect that to come just after SWL opens up. But yeah, with the redecoration of the Muppets sign, the Baseline Taphouse, and whatever they throw at the end of the street for the SWL entrance, it looks visually cohesive. Reminds me a little bit of disney springs, too.

Wait Tatoonie Traders doesn't look like DTLA rather it looks like a market place on a desert planet how will this fit in with the themed story of being a trendy downtown urban renewal area in California! Oh My! The horror! How could they?

Any insight on why the street is tan in the stretch between baseline and star tours? It seems too wide to be a crosswalk...just seems odd when the existing pavement is black and the new street is black....

I wonder how they plan on opening this, because they have to open the new pathway before they block off the old. So they'll have to put up some quick barrier to block off the old path overnight, and then work on something more permanent? Or am I missing something?

Same situation with Pixar Place to Toy Story Land, that'll be even more interesting if they try to do soft openings.

How do people feel about the Great Movie Ride's (or MMRR) show building/soundstage being visible behind the facades? If we're going with the whole "step in the movies" theme would it hurt to put some brick on it or something?

It looks like a subtle technique to differentiate "lands". Grand Ave picks up at the black pavement. Just a theory.

The yellow building looks SOOOOOOOOOO much better now with the white detailing.

This is really shaping up to be a pretty special place in the park. I look forward to relaxing in the area while I eat my lunch.
