"At the beginning of this month" meaning the New Year holiday? Yeah, it's crowded then.

I went in the middle of the summer when Flight was brand new and easily got Fastpasses for a party of seven on two different days.

You're an expert visitor though, so you know how to play the game to get your FP+. Your experience doesn't in any way compare to a casual visitor's. Many visitors don't know what you know, so it's much more of a struggle for them to get passes that you feel like you get with ease.

I'm not sure there's a solution to that problem (or if it's a problem at all). Expert users will always have an advantage over novices, regardless of the field, that's just the way it is. Disney is extremely popular at the moment. The only way to solve that is to raise prices or lower the threshold for phased closing, and I don't think anyone wants them to do either of those things.

My sister is going to WDW for the first time since 2001. It will be her husband’s first trip back since he was 10, and their children’s first trip.

She doesn’t want to plan, or listen to planning tips, or talk about it at all.. they purchased the DDP but hadn’t made any reservations. Husband is the same as her.
I kept badgering them, I tried to give her my Unofficial Guide book.. she refused. What she did do was give me her log in info and ask me to plan it for her. They’re going during the kid’s Spring Break btw.
I keep hoping that at some point she’ll sit down and talk to me, or at least log on to Disney’s website and take a look at what each park offers.

They’re staying at your AKL.. I also think that’s a mistake and have been trying to convince her to switch.

Yep, you're absolutely right.

Why dont you relax dude. Why even waste time calling people out? Its a message board and like others you could be some 45 year old guy in his moms basement pretending to be a tough guy because you can. You also can ignore the people like that rather than littering the board with garbage. Seriously, what do you accomplish calling someone a liar on a message board? Does it really matter? And who really cares? Have a civil adult discussion. If you dont agree, then respectfully disagree in an adult manner. Just calling someone a liar or name calling accomplishes nothing. I come to a board to read information, take part in civil discussions. Not to read name calling and childish garbage. When I see it..I use ignore. Another piece of advice, if you wouldnt have the cajones to confront someone in person, or talk to them and make certain comments face to face the way you would on the board, then its probably best to just stay quiet.

Mmmmm. The irony. It’s delicious.

As is typically the case. You’re wrong.

In this case, I hope I am.

ETA- the only reason I say the resort choice as a mistake is that I see it as a minimum of 6 hours wasted on travel time/security/leaving/entering on MK days. That’s 6 hours that you could be at the pool, doing a resort activity, at a park, having a meal..
But, it’s not my choice to make.

I will quote someone in response to this: Why dont you relax dude. Why even waste time calling people out?

The hypocrisy here is outstanding.
I didnt call anyone out for things they posted. Merely suggested using the ignore button rather than responding to the nonsense.. Considering Im not the only one to mention it and a majority agree with my suggestion, it seems you are the only one wanting to argue. Even the person who responded to him, then took the advice and put him on ignore. Huge difference there but obviously one too difficult for you to comprehend.

Same response I had to Penguin. Another one who doesnt comprehend the whole concept and difference in situation. I was speaking to Penguin and have no idea why you even interjected yourself into it. Other than being one of the board minions who worships at the feet of the "insiders"..A term that makes me laugh quite a bit by the way.

This is true...

I haven't been for quite awhile (over a year...eons for me. shout out to Jade, wherever she may be eating glue today...)

...but I know the game and booked flight of passage for two trips close together...

But even i who got on early could only get it once in an 8 and 6 day span, respectively...and later in the trip.

It's not easy to get and the window collapses quickly.

This is a head scratcher. I am an insider worshiping minion, because I find your hypocrisy amusing? Alrighty then.

AKL isn't a mistake...

Not planning IS.

I'm a tried and true low season, no crowds, walk on or walk past wdw vet of 30+ years...

...I hate planning. But resistance is futile and ruins trips.

Book all dining and cancel 24.5 hours ahead if needs be. Book all fastpasses and make sure at least 1 is an anchor Ride each day.

They've added nothing for a decade and the place is packed...the game has changed and it must be done.

It pains me...but it's true. Hell...give me her sign on and I'll plan it. Now...as the spring break fast passes just are up. Don't wait.
