So wait... You want me to pay more so I can get on the rides I should be able to already, if the parks weren't so overcrowded? A situation you've allowed to happen and can entirely control? Yeah, no.

We stayed two nights on property at the beginning of this month.
the second I was able to book my fastpasses at the 60 day mark, there were ZERO available for Flight Of Passage. We stayed two days. So, no FoP ride for us and the standby wait times were more than 4 hours. Just to make sure the wait times were not inflated, I went to the exit of the ride inside the gift shop and randomly asked how long they waited. One women said she waited almost 7 hours. *gasp*

Holy )_(@$...

I'll be the first to say FoP is amaaaaazing. But wait seven hours? Not in a million years. I wouldn't even wait two. That's unbelievable that you couldn't get any FP, especially if you were so diligent about it. How aggravating.

I can only assume you haven't really been "following" the FoP situation.

The chances of getting an FP for the ride are pretty slim for 60 days out + 3, and have been consistently since the summer. 60 days + 4 is fairly typical, even then people are not always able to get morning FPs.

And that is going to seem like a walk in the park when Star Wars opens. I cannot begin to imagine how they are going to manage that mayhem. I really wonder if you will even get into the land without an FP.

I really think this trial with CL extra FPs is to test the water for SW:GE. If they find people will pay extra for FPs, then you can bet they'll do it for those rides.

Not closely, no. Wow, I hadn't realized it's so bad. Ugh. I know when I went last August it was pretty straightforward at 60 days... But that was the only good part. Despite going back to AK for a second day, with EMH at night - I was never able to get near it again. Lines at 120m all day long, if not more. I never even got on the river cruise at all.

Has MaxPass at DLR changed since July 2017? We could purchase it day-by-day on our trip last summer (and I think we only purchased it two out of our four days). That being said, we loved it!

When we bought our tickets in November it only gave us the option to either have MaxPass or not. So it automatically added the $50 for the 5 days... but at $10 it was TOTALLY worth it. Now maybe when more are buying it, it wont be, but for now it worked great!

Honestly...this is the first I've ever heard of anything close to this with the exception of a maintenance overide.

The systems are firewalled from each other for accounting purposes and can't be used like a piggybank in that fashion easily. It's not nearly that simple.

I'm not saying it is impossible to conceive - I wouldn't discount anything - but based on your angst level, you're gonna need backup on this.

Why would you be traveling on marathon weekend to the grand Floridian anyway?? For someone who appears to be tired of how they run things...that weekend is awful in so many ways. I'm confused.

Because DW myself and a few friends were running IN THE MARATHON and we wanted a GV so we could hang out together and that was last year (2017) and that event was the last straw that made us give up on Disney and sell our points.

BTW the exact reason we were given was 'reservation cancelled at your request' like we sent a letter or made a phone call.

The so called 'firewall' on most reservation systems is merely a account with sufficient privilege to make the requested change.

Not an 'air gap' as used on classified systems where the two systems are entirely separate.

Hell will freeze over before I visit WDW again.

What's also available to everyone is to be truthful. And when they're not, what's also available to everyone is to call them out on their lies.

What's also available specifically to you, is to put the people calling out the lies on ignore so you don't have to see that anymore. Take your own advice.

Why dont you relax dude. Why even waste time calling people out? Its a message board and like others you could be some 45 year old guy in his moms basement pretending to be a tough guy because you can. You also can ignore the people like that rather than littering the board with garbage. Seriously, what do you accomplish calling someone a liar on a message board? Does it really matter? And who really cares? Have a civil adult discussion. If you dont agree, then respectfully disagree in an adult manner. Just calling someone a liar or name calling accomplishes nothing. I come to a board to read information, take part in civil discussions. Not to read name calling and childish garbage. When I see it..I use ignore. Another piece of advice, if you wouldnt have the cajones to confront someone in person, or talk to them and make certain comments face to face the way you would on the board, then its probably best to just stay quiet.

I agree its a mess getting a FP for FoP, but, Ive ridden it every time ive gone, including earlier in January. Staying on property on an EMH morning, got there 30 minutes before opening, got into the park and was on and off it in 30 minutes. Getting to ride what you want to ride in any of the parks without a crazy wait is absolutely feasible with planning. Whether off property or on. Anyone brave enough to use morning emh or be at a park at opening, ANY of the parks, can accomplish pretty much anything they want without massive waits. Just an example:
If you go Thursday through Sunday, on property or now Disney Springs resorts. Thursday is Epcot EMH, Friday MK, Saturday AK, Sunday Studios. Using EMH and FP anything is possible.
Epcot: Use EMH to immediately do Frozen and Test Track. Save FP for Soarin, Land, Spaceship earth.
MK: Use EMH for Space Mountain and Buzz OR Pan and IASW, then do JC, Pirates, HM, BTMRR before even needing to make use of any FPs and use one for Dwarves and 2 for any other rides.
AK: EMH FoP and Safari, EE and Dinosaur at open, then FP for Navi and two other attractions.
Studios: TSM and RNRC for EMH, HTOT at open and then you have 3 FPs for any attraction.

I can usually do anything I want at any park first thing in the AM and be out of the park or at one of the lounges/ bars between 11 and 12 and then have the rest of the day to do whatever I want. Mid day break, relax, nice dinner and quiet evening at any park or at Springs. Yes, the crowds are worse now more than ever. Its a matter of adjusting in order to maximize your time, ride what you want without major waits, and still have tons of time to relax.

So how about applying that to here?
I certainly wouldn't be on an internet forum about something I have no intentions ever to visit again...

What if someone is passionate about a subject and wants to discuss it with other passionate people? Not all passion is fawning and adulation. You can put him on ignore with a couple clicks if you are tired of reading his posts.

I wish several people would follow this advice, not only the person you quoted.

I disagree with just about everything that Ford says about Disney.. but these attacks the past few pages are disgusting. Grow up, people. Finding amusement in attacking people via the Internet is is much worse than anything that I’ve seen him type.

One thing I’ll say, I do think you’re wrong about Disney.
However, At least you back up your dissatisfaction with WDW by not going. That’s more admirable, and more sensible than whining and moaning while booking your next trip...and then whining and moaning some more while there and then whining and moaning again after the return home.

Then why bother talking about it and wasting your time on a WDW forum?

"At the beginning of this month" meaning the New Year holiday? Yeah, it's crowded then.

I went in the middle of the summer when Flight was brand new and easily got Fastpasses for a party of seven on two different days.
