Ok, not to be one who needs to get credit, but to be clear, most of what Kermit wrote was either stuff from the original or stuff I wrote earlier in the thread, that being said, Kermit, I think you did a nice job of taking my stuff and mixing it with the original, I like the mix you've struck, we just need to make sure that the right sections end up with the right room.

I've seen some of the rooms claimed, before I go to bed I will assign those who have not chosen a room.

Keep in mind you need to end your room by having the rider interact with the screen to continue the character creation process.

The Imagination Institute presents, Imagination 101

We board a vehicle and travel through the Imagination Institute learning about the various ways we can use and apply our imagination. The loading area will feature a massive mural showcasing several inventors and their inventions. "Hidden Figments" can also be found on the mural.

In the first room we meet (TBD) who welcomes us and introduces us to our travel companion on our journey, Figment. In the first room, you learn about brainstorming, how figment was created, and you have to pick 2-4 different animals to combine.
“One little spark of inspiration,
Is at the heart of all creation.
Right at the start of everything that's new,
One little spark lights up for you.
Imagination, imagination.
A dream can be a dream come true,
With just that spark in me and you.”

In the second room we meet (Famous Artist) who teaches us, and Figment, about color, light, and visual arts. In the Art room you pick 1-3 colors to color the figment.
“Mix red and gold from autumn flowers,
Purple and blue from twilight hours.
Green summer hills and rainbows play a part.
A painter's brush, a work of art.”

In the third room we meet Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who teaches us about music, tone, rhythm, and all that fun stuff. In the Music room you pick it's singing voice.

In the fourth room we meet H.G. Wells who tells us about fiction and storytelling. In the story room you pick it's personality.
“I started out, with just a notion
To travel deep, within the ocean
I dreamed of worlds, like none you've ever seen
And now we have...a submarine!”

In the fifth room we meet Thomas Edison who tells us about mixing science and imagination to invent. In the invention room you use a machine that brings it to life.
“When there's a problem... and I can't solve it
I take the notion, and then revolve it
A touch of science with a dash of Fantasy!!!
And then, “Eureka!” It comes to me”

In the sixth and final room we meet Walt Disney, who has combined all the various elements together to create worlds and rides like the very one we are on. In Walt's room it joins the rest of the others and the characters Walt created.
“One little mouse, steering a steamboat
Add in Snow White, who loves a dreamboat
Then Disneyland, where limitations are unknown…
From that one spark, so much has grown!”

We exit the ride and end up in a newly revamped imagination works on the second floor.
At the end of the ride you can bring it to different stations to see it in action, maybe some sort of chip/flash drive or maybe like with Spaceship earth, it just keeps the most recent ones in the system and you can recover it after the ride.

I was also thinking, that at the end of each room's presentation, when you have to make selections about the character you're creating, the host or figment would sing about that process...

For the Art room, where you select the colors for your spark.
Red from a rose, or sunny yellow
A vibrant pink, or blue that's mellow
Perhaps some orange or the purple of a grape?
With color added, your spark takes shape!

For the Music room, where you select the type of voice and sounds your spark makes.
And now we need, to make some choices
Let's add some sounds, and funny voices
Maybe it's low, or maybe it's a squeak...
And there you go, your spark can speak!

For the personality selection screen in the storytelling room.
Is it a girl? Or rather, boyish?
Would it be brave, or somewhat coyish?
With every choice, you're adding personality...
And now you've shaped, who it will be!

For the inventions room, where the spark will come to life...
And now your spark is almost ready...
So just sit tight, and just hold steady...
I flip the switch, and the next thing that you know....
Your sparks alive! Well, there you go!

I really don't like the last one, but I had a brain fart and needed to get something down.

as for the narrating professor, I was given some advice that I believe would work well; we should go with a more grandfatherly-like figure, somewhat like the scientist from the Dinosaur Movie (We're Back!) He was very kind and wise, and had that spark of life to him, to be honest, he actually reminds me somewhat of a lower toned dreamfinder...

anyway, just a personality idea from me (from someone else)

I was thinking that H.G. Wells is just great to have in the ride, but maybe he doesn't really fit the character aspect of the storytelling, since his books are more about big concepts.

Maybe he should be the host, he could be grandfatherly, without being a copy of Dreamfinder.

I think perhaps Shakespeare would be a better choice for the storytelling room.

where exactly was jules verne ( i didnt want to go back and look :P)?

he could do storytelling, or even some other great authors, such as poe, twain, etc...

i see shakespeare more with show than writing (although, i do know he was a writer :D)

oh, andi'm sorry, i didnt mean the character was a DF copy, like, he had some similar traits (i mean, i'm pretty sure the imagineers originally did a great job), but he would be more toned down, not as flamboyant and over the top (like he hasnt been popping sugar or something ;))

I will also need someone to do a mock up of the Queue area, and we should contribute one idea for a display in the new imageworks.

Excellent!
Art is my thing!

Here's my question...even though we have one AA as our host for each room...we aren't limited to filling the room with only that person's work are we?

I am trying to figure out which art visionary to use...There's Da Vinci...but also Dali, Warhol, Picasso, Van Gogh...and each one has art that would be amazing if it came to life around you! (and each was one whose imagination created a stir in the art world!)

My other question...what is the final theme we decided on for the Imageworks section?

Are we continuing the ride personalities/themes?

So whichever artist I end up with would be the theme of the imageworks hand's-on display?

I think the Imageworks should be activities where you can swipe a card, or look up your "Spark" and play with it, or create with it. So, yours should be some sort of Art inspired station, not necessarily with your host.

Also, I think you don't need to stick to just your hosts style, in fact, your host could talk about different styles and the room could reflect them.

It might be really cool, if in addition to color one of the interactive choices was artistic style, and you could have 4-5 different choices that would change the look of the "Spark"

Excellent! That was my thinking as well!

And I LOVE the spark being in different art styles!
Impressionist watercolor, classic oil painted, CGI 3D, Manga comic style...ooh...I can think of all sorts of cool ways to do this!

I will be working on this tonight.

Depending on how much I get done...I may attempt the queue as well (or at least design a new sign)

One more quick question...how much are we committed to fitting this in with the layout of the building, as it currently exists (or are we just not that worried about it?)

There's this thread in General that illustrates the blueprints of the ride before and after(which is very very sad)

To be honest, I'm not really worried about the layout, there is plenty of space in the building, and it sounds to me like we can use new technology to make the rooms change and be magical, vs, needing lots of space to move through set pieces.

Here are my ideas for the music room:

In the music room, we see an animatronic of Mozart with a bunch of pictures of musical instruments, old and new, behind him. Next to him is Figment dressed as a dancer. This is his outfit: click here. The outfit will be black instead of gold. The leotard-like bottom will be replaced by a skirt. He will also be wearing black pantyhose. The shoes will be black, as well. Rowlf the Dog will make a cameo appearance playing "One Little Spark" on the piano. After leaving the music room, you enter the storytelling room.

What do you think?
:D

Why doesn't anyone who wants to take a stab at the Queue do it, and then I'll either integrate, or take the best one.

The queue will be a long hallway of inventions and portraits of their inventors. What I mean by this is that a lightbulb would be displayed with Thomas Edison's portrait, and a statue of Mickey Mouse would be displayed with Walt Disney's portrait.

What do you think?
:D

Ok, what do you guys think of a Walt AA? There are positives and negatives, so I want to know what you guys think.

Here's my thinking for the final scene...

there should be a reference to Epcot Center considering the scene talks about Walt Disney.
