Must be this newfangled way of doing things cuz when i was a kid, football season lasted til Thanksgiving Day...and thats when all the big rivals took place...
i played baseball in highschool and actually had a tryout lined up with the Mets in 1968....then along came a letter from the Selective Service and then came the killing fields.
