Good to go or tough road to hoe?

Simple issue. my girlfriend and I are debating about whether it's a good/bad idea to go June 6-11. My theory is that it's good because most schools haven't let out yet so it shouldn't be crazy busy yet. Her theory is...I'm wrong. Anyone have any comments?

Listen to your girlfriend.

All the schools in Jacksonville Florida will be out before the end of this week and I can not imagine the rest of the state being much different. Touringplans.com has crowd levels for those dates listed as a 8 or 9 out of 10 which means it will be super busy.

Hrm...ok, ok. Sure, there's evidence supporting that maybe it'll be busy. But there has to be a chance that it won't be busy, right?

I don't like being wrong!

I remember that one! So I'll tell my girlfriend that it could go either way! That seems to be the only accurate statement I can garner out of all of this :D :D

So if I am at WDW that weekend and I see some girl hitting a guy repeatedly about the head and shoulders with her purse screaming "I told you it would be crowded!" is it safe to assume that that guy is you?

I get the impression that on the East Coast, schools are usually in session until mid-June, primarily because they don't start until after Labor Day.

I have lived my entire life in the midwest, and the norm here is to start mid-August and be out before or very soon after Memorial Day. My kids are out May 29, the day after. (Yeah--it seems really silly to have a 3-day weekend and go for one more day. Whatcha gonna do??)

Also remember that nearly every college is out mid-May.

My guess is that it will be busy, but perhaps not as busy as July.

Be patient, wear sunscreen, spend lots of quality time at the pool.

It will be busy, but not as busy as July, so maybe you win, a bit.
Here in RI, schools don't get out 'til mid-June - DS' graduation is June 19th - so you won't see quite so many people who can't pronounce the letter "R".

School gets out earlier than it used to!
It seems that the students go back earlier, but they get out earlier.
We went during this time last year & it was BUSY!
We did have fun, but there were alot of attractions that we just had to skip because the wait was just too long.

June 2007 Crowds

I've been to WDW twice in early June, 6/3-6/10/2000 and 6/2003. I'm heading back next Friday. If it busy, it's busy...

I was there the week prior to Columbus Day last October, and it was the busiest I'd ever seen it in a long time at any time, and I've been there 8 times since 1998, this year being my 9th. I just hope it isn't that busy this time.

My advice would be to wait until mid-October, but that's no garauntee, either, as I found out last year.

You're probably best off with late April to Mid-May, but why wait until next year?

Well in Polk County, which is about 45 min from WDW, schools got out today at appx. 1pm! Darn that means I have to fight not only the elderly drivers, but also the kids who got a new care for graduation last night, UGG the agony!:lookaroun

My niece's both get out of school on the 11th of June. Most schools are geting out around that time up here. Except of course for the public schools that get out around the end of June. What a bummer for those kids. To avoid an argument with the little women I would side with her, but then butter her up by saying it will be fun cause its a chance for us to get some alone time together. Plus if your together it should be nothing but fun:animwink:

I went last year during the first week of June through the end of the second. The crowds were NOT that busy! I typically go during August when the touring groups are in full swing. It was incredibly nice not to get lost in all the hoopla of the touring groups.

I would definitely go then...it may be busy, but not half as much as during July or August!

Starting with Memorial Day Weekend, it will basically be busy all through the summer. By the end of June, though, schools across the country have let out, so there is a much higher chance of it being ridiculously busy later in the month. Tell her you're sure that it won't be busy, and go anyway. Remember, whether you're right or you're wrong, your girlfriend will always be right. Let her have this one. What's the worst that can happen? She spends five days at Disney with you saying "I told you so!" while waiting on line for Soarin'. Could be much worse ways to spend June 6-11.....
