Hypocrite Alert! Wilt Disney, Nemo, Not For Sale, Legacy, MKT ALL TRASHED A GOOD TOPIC LAST NIGHT CLAIMING IT WAS "POLITICAL" NOW WE FIND THEM TELLING OTHERS TO VOTE? THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST? :hammer: I DO AGREE WE NEED TO VOTE.......... TO KEEP FLIP FLOPPERS LIKE THESE MEMBERS OUT OF THE SITE. As for other flip floppers......go vote.

Yeah, "go vote" is on par with "who do you plan to vote for?" in political content.

Rock on, Jim.

Notice how this thread is still going strong, and your thread no longer exists. Obviously the boss agrees with all these "Hypocrites".

Ah, yes. Disagreement naturally leads to insults. This thread is resembling the political process more and more.

I voted today at around 10:10am! We didn't have much to vote for, and we only waited about 2 minutes. We found that if we go after the morning people, but before the lunch crowd we wouldn't have to wait.

Hey Testtrack, I see that you just turned 18. Congrats on your first voting experience! (Let me assure you that they are usually not at all as busy as this one!) But I definitely hope that, unlike many other people, you will continue to vote next year, and all other years. Many people skip other important local issues when it is not a presidential voting year. Please do not do that. Keep informed about issues beyond this year, and continue to vote.

I am curious, though, to find out if your experience was what you expected.

I am 38, and I know that although my polling place (A.M. Davis Elem. in Chesterfield County) was busy but running normally, I did feel a bit sentimental watching the whole process. I think we do have something to be thankful for here in America (and in other countries that have freedom). It really made me proud. And despite the current problems there, I hope, like Afqhanistan, the Iraqis will get to experience this next year also.

At any rate, Testtrack (and any other new voters), let us know how your experience went and whether it was what you expected....

Is telling people to vote political? Uhhhh....no.

I think I'm gonna open up a burger place and call it "flip floppers"....its catchy...and certain political groups and parties love to use the word in every election...so it would be free advertising :lookaroun...but I digress...

As for voting...go do it (no matter who it is you vote for, let your voice be heard)! As for me...I voted...for change that is. ;)

Well, I knew the topics, but it was what I expected. I was really surprised, I found out that about 1 mile away the lines were crazy (Short Pump Middle) yet at where I went (that Church near Stranges by Short Pump Town Center) wasn't croweded at all. I plan on voting every year from now till when I can't move.

We had only 4 things to vote for here in VA (and my area) we had the President (funny how the Constitutional party and that other one are on there, but not Nader, oh well, dosn't bother me), who we want in congress (Eric Cantor vs. Other Independent Guy), and two constitutional ammendments (nothing on gay rights though).

Fresh off the wire

HARRISBURG, PA (AP) -- State elections officials decided Monday to extend voting to a second day, due to the expected heavy turnout.

"The good news is that we have set a state record for voter registrations and expect a record turnout, reversing a long downward trend for both," Pennsylvania Secretary of State Fred Curtis said Monday.

"The bad news is that we have limited election resources, in terms of both voting machines and facilities."

Acting on the advice of his deputies at the Department of State, and with the blessing of Governor Edward G. Rendell, Curtis announced that the polls will be open on Wednesday, as well.

On both Tuesday and Wednesday, polling places will open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM.

Recent violence at polling places forced Curtis and other election officials to segregate the voting by candidate.

"Those who will be voting for Bush, we ask that they vote on Tuesday," Curtis said, "and that those voting for Kerry come out on Wednesday."

"The Tunkhannock and the Moon Township incidents, I think, are fresh in everyone's mind, even four years later," Curtis said.

"Everyone involved in this decision [to extend voting to a second day] is interested first and foremost in keeping the peace at the ballot box, whatever it takes."

In Tunkhannock, near Scranton, two supporters of George W. Bush doused an Al Gore supporter with kerosene and set her on fire on Election Day 2000.

In Moon Township, a Pittsburgh suburb, a group of steelworkers supporting Gore mauled and attempted to lynch another man because he voted for Bush.

None of the assailants were ever captured, and the two victims made full recoveries from their injuries.

Proudly wearing my two buttons I got for voting. Thankfully my polling station was a half block away and there was a short line. For the rest of you who stood in line for hours to vote your respective choices, I say RIGHT ON!! Voting rocks! Taking part in the process of deciding who your leaders are rock!!

That Pennsylvania story is a gag, right?

"Bush voters come out today...Kerry people, wait til tomorrow. wink wink, nudge nudge."

I did a check just to make sure and didn't find anything on it. I'm assuming it's a joke.

I totally agree with your comment. As you can see, a certain member whose screen name starts with J and ends with M and rhymes with BungleDim continues to post his pointless, childish, inane, and insipid comments. Oh, if only we could vote off other members.

I'd be right there with you voting this person out. I'm sick of hearing them call people names and try to get everything to be politcal. He claims he's doing just opposite yet that's all he's talking about. :veryconfu

Thank you, Marcia, for mentioning that. How many among us would be willing to bear arms, and die if necessary, to preserve this Republic?

I would be more than willing if they'd let me. But alas, they won't.

I didn't let that stop me from voting though. Voted early, and now am very glad I did, because the lines and wait times here are outrageous today.
