You, my husband and my friend Jake are the only males I know who (admit to having) read the books... Good for you! ;)

So... what's your opinion of Bella?

To be frank, I think most of the characters are pretty annoying  :lookaroun

She's WAY too naive, IMO. And she definitely doesn't understand as much as she should. And the whole "I'm so clumsy I can't even walk without breaking a bone" thing is a little off-putting. But I think that's just strange character development on the part of Meyer.

My favorite female character is Alice. When Bella says she "dances" everywhere, I just get these really hilarious images in my head.

But I'm not reading the books for the characters. To be honest, I don't even know why I'm reading them in the first place

Hey everyone. Shrek was great!! I loved it! The seats were bad, but you could still see everything. It was really easy to follow along, especially if you knew the story. The characters were great. I loved the little girl who did Young Fiona (she was so cute!). And the guy who did Donkey was really funny. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Jo....lemme know how Shrek: The Musical is. I reallllly want to see it!

It was awsome! I loved it.

July 12th? :lookaroun
It just so happens that a certain IMom-whom-everyone-loves-dearly was born on that date.

Of course, babies seldom come on their due dates, so this one most likely won't have to share the day with me. :D

The baby can share my birthday!!

I'm actually relaxing for a bit.
We had stuffed peppers for dinner. Judy sent them over. They were yum!!!

Ooo, yum! I haven't had any in forever!:slurp:

It's only available for private functions when it's closed for residents.
Which basically means evenings only.

Back to the drawing board...

We can have a shower at my place.

So I got a package in the school mail today for Disney on Broadway. In the past our 8th grade trip has been to NYC, but this year we're doing DC instead. So, I almost just chucked it, but, hey, it was a Disney thing so I had to open it. Anyway inside was a CD with 3 songs from LK, 3 from LM and 3 from MP!!!!:sohappy:

Just made my day!

Ooo, I love the music from LK and LM!

It's on our YouTube rotation along with the Big Blue World and Go with the Flow songs from Finding Nemo, and The Manamana song from the muppets. :lookaroun

I love those songs! I actually have them all on my Itunes.

Can I ask you college people something??

Did I totally miss out on the best years of my life because we couldn't afford to send me to a college that required me to stay ina dorm? I commuted to school, and because of the circumstances of my life at the time, I couldn't have possibly gone away for school. I never really made many friends because they were all doing things at night and I'd have to drive back home afterwards. Did I miss out on something? i feel like I did...:(

I don't dorm either. I still live at home.:(

Maybe I didn't miss out on TOO much, I guess. But what I'm REALLY jealous of? Being able to go abroad for school. Man that sound slike fun.

I wish I could go abroad.:(

I'm totally late on responding but...

I totally agree with you. Honestly... I couldn't stand Bella until the last book. Maybe because I'm too removed from the "young adult fiction" type of characters. But I had the same issues you do with her. And yes, I love Alice. :)

And I'm also totally with you on not knowing why you're reading it. To be honest, I didn't think the books were that great... but they were definitely a fun read. Well, I guess in that respect they were good... but I guess I mean I didn't think they were written that well. In comparing them to similar style books like Harry Potter or Eragon, I didn't think they were up to par. But the whole story concept was definitely unique and enjoyable to see unfold.

That's awesome Jo! You know, I didn't even know there was a Shrek musical until you said you were going to it. That's one thing I miss about Chicago... there just aren't many cultural offerings here in Middle Tennessee.

Yeah, that's one of the things I'm going to miss when I move to FL (not having NYC in my backyard).

I didn't like her either... my favorite was Alice. And I really wished she would have fleshed out Esme a bit more. She just seemed.... there.
