Goodmorning everyone!

Well last night I ...:lookaroun put up my christmas tree. It is not decorated but it is up. I like to give it time to relax. :ROFLOL:I am so excited for Christmas this year because of Jasmine. I wanted everything to be Mickey & Minnie this year but about 35% of it will be. Is everyone else getting excited about Christmas? I know this will be a tight year for most of America but I love the part about just getting together and eating and talking.:xmas:
I am ready for Christmas. Almost got the shopping done. Monday after Thanksgiving I will put up the tree.

 Morning, Dawn. That's great!!! I'm sort of mixed this year about Christmas. I've felt myself in the spirit already, it's my favorite time of year. But this is the 1st year I won't be home for Christmas so it's a little bittersweet. :( Since we leave for our honeymoon on the 30th it just didn't make sense.
I've actually had a tree set-up tradition since college. Every year I set it up on December 5th...Walt Disney's birthday. :o
Aw! I love that!

I know in 05 we was in Disney. It was great but something was missing. :lookaroun I did like not having to spend all that money on presents, since most of my family went. I just sent the ones that did not go a HAM :ROFLOL:Have a great time on ur honeymoon.

Morning!
IT'S FRIDAY!:sohappy:

Agreed. The best part is the togetherness. I wish I could my tree up this weekend! I won't be able to until the first or second week in December.

Yes I love to cook so we all just bring whatever to Grandmas and eat til we need a nap and then eat again. :sohappy:

I haven't even started shopping... :dazzle:
We're not doing a lot of presents this year... budget is tight with a new house and fridge and all...
We're having a "Light Christmas" this year too. With just paying for a wedding, a honeymoon, and a couple of other things coming up....

Me either last year I made everyone Cookies and Candy, Fudge and such. But even that is expensive and time consuming. So I am opting for something else this year. I have not figured it out but it will be something else.

That's really good thinking Steph.

We're very low on time as well... so DIY projects as Christmas presents isn't an option either... Just not sure what to do...

The hardest part is knowing when to stop with DH. WE can get carried away with presents to each other, when really we should view the house as one huge present and forget everything else. I guess it's just that we want each other to have SOMETHING to open.

Ooo! That just made me think! We'll be opening presents in a new house this year! YIKES!!!

ok you take a med potato peel and dice it, then boil it til soft. then you take a lb of powdered sugar and put in a bowl and place a few pieces of the potato in it and mash it as it becomes like a paste. Then add some more sugar until it becomes like dough. Roll it out then spread peanut butter on it and then roll it and cut into pieces. YUMMY :slurp:

1 mediuam potato
2 lbs confectionary sugar (powdered sugar)
peanut butter (smooth, not crunchy)

Directions:
Peel the potato and slice into one inch cubes, or so. Boil the potato cubes until you are able to stick a fork in each piece, lift it out of the pot, and the potato slides easily off the fork.

After that, drain the water, and mash the potato in a large bowl. start adding the confectionary sugar once the potato is mashed. it will get VERY watery at first, so use a spoon, but after a while, the dough will harden up as the sugar saturates it. You'll have to use your hands to knead the dough after about 1 bag of sugar. Keep adding sugar until the dough won't take any more. Then dust the countertop or cutting board with more powdered sugar, and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. I usually have to throw some more sugar on the dough every so often (use it instead of flour), so it doesn't stick to the rolling pin. Spread a good layer of peanut butter on it, and carefully roll it back up. slice it so that each piece is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

A tip: don't skimp on the peanut butter. If you don't have enough, the candy will just be too sweet to be edible. Also, be sure to mash the potato cubes very well at the beginning.....it doesn't taste right if you end up eating chunks of potato in the finished candy.

Sounds easy enough that I can do.
