As long as people want to come, we will have it!
So far we have me, Fishy and Steph...so that's a party!

I'm throwing a tentative date out there...April 4th.

Oh and...
We can make it a double shower...for Chrissy as well as Steph...if Chrissy is interested. It's a little close to her due date, so we'll see what she says about that.

So people, start letting me know what you think.
At least this one isn't a surprise.
The wedding shower was killer! :dazzle:

Oooo, I am so in!!!:sohappy:

:eek::eek::eek:

You've GOT to come!! I'd miss my Nibblies!

Besides, we can make ice cream together! I'm supposed to show you how, remember???

I want to learn too.:lookaroun

Oh wow! I just checked the calendar. If April 4th is THE date, that is the weekend after I get back from FL (and 2 weeks after Spring Break). What a fun time period!

I need home decor advice! :brick:

We found this amazing dining room table the other day. It's solid cherry, but more blonde than most I've seen. I LOVE everything about it, except I'm just not sure about the color...

Our dining room is rather open into our formal living area. Imagine walking through the front door and directly to your right is the open dining area, and in front of you is the entryway, which leads into the formal living area on the right which is open and rather large. While the dining room still looks like a seperate room it IS open to the rest of the living area. Our living room furniture will be more khaki, chocolate brown, cream/off-white and a little green... kinda like this color scheme:

Would a lighter, "warmer" cherry dining room table look out of place with the darker, "cooler" woods that will be in living area? i'm not needing woods to match by any means, but I don't want them to look out of place either.

The kitchen isn't as open into the living area and the dining room... but we have warmer oak cabinets in it with a blackish granite with blonde highlights...

I just over-analyze purchases sometimes... and, I mean, it's a dining room table. We'll have it for quite some time and it'll be an important part of our house.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Um... need I remind you of this post....

I had first Dibbs and am willing to bribe you with homemade vanilla ice cream for the sofa :lookaroun

Oh dear.:lookaroun
I guess you and Fishy will have to fight that one out.

George's plan is to be gone for the day on Saturday and probably overnight Friday. He thought he'd use the time to do some photography either in DC or in the Poconos. Of course, he'll probably change his mind 10 times between now and then, but if he is gone overnight Friday, it could probably work out if someone (or two) wanted to camp out on the living room floor.
I'll let you know more when we get closer to the date.
As long as you all know that the accommodations are tight, I don't care how many of you come. The more the merrier.
I'm inviting Judy. She has to be there...she's the consummate planner and I couldn't do this without her. Also my neighbor Rossella from across the hall. You guys will adore them both...I promise!

Kat...I'm no Martha Stewart, but as long as the style of furniture isn't way off, I don't see why you couldn't have different wood tones. Maybe you could bring some of each of the tones into both of the rooms in some small way...like a vase or a bowl. And some of the colors from each of the rooms too.

What do I know?

That's a good idea. I'm leaning towards getting it. $300 for a solid wood table that can seat up to 12-14.
I'm just new to the home-ownership thing really. And DH and I didn't really buy anything after we got married and moved in together. So, all of this has been a long time coming, I suppose. Sorry if I seem a little crazy about it all. I'm just excited I guess...

I'm a little too far away for your get-togethers.

*crawls in*

*dies*

:(
*fans you*

Everything okay?

Very tired and trying to fight off what Matthew has had the past few days.

Sigh.... it's that time of year.... colds and flu.

How are you, Dottie? I see you are uber-planning another shower...

Feel better.

I'm good.
Not really planning yet.
Just trying to see how much of a shower there will be at this point. :D

Good deal, I think.

Too bad.
