Except for George's fall today, all is well.
Busy, but well.

And this week isn't going to be any less busy, that's for sure.
Where do you have Thanksgiving, Bun?

I read about that. Scary!!

It's looking to be a busy week here too... we're doing Turkey day at Marc's parents' this year. I'm bringing Corn pudding. I *was* going to volunteer to do apple pie, but thought better of it. his family are like carnivorous wolves. It'd take all day to make and be gone in 15 seconds. They also loooove corn pudding, so it's win win. Plus corn pudding is cheap! :D

Yay for corn pudding, then! :D
I know I would love it, but I'd be the only who would, so I don't make it.
My crew likes plain, old corn. Boring.

It's good enough, but you should SEE how they go nuts over it. There are never any leftovers, and they frequently fight over the last pieces. You'd think it was filet mignon the way they go on about it. I like it okay, but not that much!

Comfort food, I guess.
Like green bean casserole.
I don't even like green beans and the casserole doesn't improve the taste much for me, but still I'll eat it if it's there. Go figure.

MMMmmmm.... green bean casserole.

does your family do cranberry sauce in a can? It's just not thanksgiving without the can-shaped log of goodness gleaming on the table. :slurp:

I like whole berry sauce too, but you've got to have the other kind as well.

funny thing... I prefer it cold... I just never thought to put it in the fridge though.

:hammer:

I always have. Mostly because it keeps it firmer.

I'm making a turkey breast again this year.
I tried it last year instead of a whole turkey...there are only 6 of us...and it worked out nicely.
And I made my stuffing in a separate pan instead of in the bird, and found I like it much better that way.

i didn't know what it was until I met marc. it's basically corn, creamed corn, milk, and a box of corn mufin mix mixed up and baked together. It's kinda hard to describe. Kinda a very wet loose cornbread.

Mmmm... now I'm hungry. I need some cranberry-in-a-can! :slurp:

Stuffing should never go in the bird unless it's piping hot first. Otherwise it harbors bacteria. :hurl:

My mom tried to do the turkey breast thing many years ago because it used to be only the 3 of us... I rebelled. what's thanksgiving without a turkey leg to gnaw on??? So one year we just had roasted turkey legs :slurp:

it's kinda sweet. Not too sugary, but sweeter than normal corn, I guess. Sadly though, the "pudding" is only a name, not a dessert. marc's family names things strangely. Like Funeral Salad

We survived it somehow. :D

We're not really dark meat eaters.
George loves his turkey legs smoked ala Disney. :D
