I was shocked (but thrilled) to see that the official revised MCU timeline now includes the Netflix shows! 😍

When did that happen?! Have they always been there since the shows were added to Disney+ and I just missed it? Or is because they're bringing so many of the Netflix actors back in the new shows?

But where are Agent Carter (the series) and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?????????????
It started happening when Matt Murdock was in NWH, and that lead to the rest of the shows being added when they landed on D+.

As for Agent Carter and Agents of Shield, two absolutely fabulous shows, and also Cloak and Dagger on Freeform..... Feige has slowly started thawing on the Loeb created shows. He said the following -

"On the Multiverse note, we recognize that there are stories - movies and series - that are canonical to Marvel but were created by different storytellers during different periods of Marvel's history. The timeline presented in this book is specific to the MCU's Sacred Timeline through Phase 4. But, as we move forward and dive deeper into the Multiverse Saga, you never know when timelines may just crash or converge."

I hope they do merge into the main MCU Timeline at some point. Have the whole family back together as it were.

I mean, Jarvis was in Endgame for crying out loud! That makes Agent Carter canon (and by extension Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., too), dangit! ADD HER TO THE TIMELINE!!!! :D

It seems, from the outside looking in, it took Feige a long time to stop resisting the Netflix series as being canon. He eventually said, albeit implicitly and with winks, that its all canon because the multiverse is canon and these shows were in parallel universes.

Then Hawkeye and Spider-Man used Fisk and Daredevil (and eventually, She-Hulk and Echo, too). Those actors for a long time assumed their characters were in the one true timeline and not just multiversal analogues. Then even directors and writers of Marvel D+ series started to say everything is one canonical timeline.

Then the writers strike happened, along with the need for Disney to slow its roll of Marvel content. This gave Marvel the breathing room to completely rewrite the upcoming Daredevil series -- by assuming the Netflix series was canon and part of the main timeline. I attribute that to the fans clamoring for it, and the need for Disney to get some wins under its belt. So, they're giving fans what they want and Fiege is letting go of his distaste of the Netflix show, and all is one.

Except Agents of SHIELD. Where the heck is that, *Kevin*?!?!

Considering the Netflix shows are about a million times better than anything produced since for Disney+... I understand his jealousy. :D

I'd take Ms Marvel, Loki, and WandaVision over the Netflix series any day of the week. Several of the Netflix series are very good, but a significant part of the hyperbolic praise for them is people confusing "grim" and "dark" with "sophisticated" and "well written" and fans who want their comic book entertainment to assure them its totally for adults - no silly kid stuff. The best of the Netflix lot, the first season of Jessica Jones, was genuinely excellent but so bleak it was actually painful.

I LOVE Ms. Marvel, and think she's the best thing to come out of the Disney+ productions. I loved her in The Marvels, too. She's just pure joy, as is her family. So I am definitely not one to say dark automatically = quality. I thought Echo was just okay, for example. I can enjoy lightness if it's strongly character-driven as Ms. Marvel was, and I found the utter adorableness of O.B. to be the best part of the Loki show, which I found otherwise pretty forgettable - which is really saying something considering how much I love Loki as a character overall. But the writing and acting in Daredevil, Luke Cage and The Punisher was some of the best I've ever seen anywhere. Disney+ is nowhere near that level in anything they've done. In fact, little else in the MCU is, IMO. I loved Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.i.E.L.D., too, but I don't think they're at the level of the best of the Netflix shows, though they are also far above anything on Disney+. Again, IMO.

Luke Cage couldn’t maintain its writing quality throughout its full first season. Daredevil was very good but not exceptional and utterly cratered half way through season two. Defenders, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones after the first season - they were all worse then anything on D+ except for Secret Invasion.

Disagree with jones, thought her show was good. And I thought daredevil was pretty goof throughout. But punisher continues to be far and away my favorite mcu show.

got around to watching the marvels last night & i can see why it didn’t do well. i can say it’s a 1 & done. could’ve done without the singing planet. that was just lame & painful to sit through. the cats song made me shake my head, but it wasn’t as bad. definitely a step backwards from the 1st movie & for marvel itself.

I hope after this and Kraven (which doesn't look any better to me), Sony finally decides to just let Feige and Marvel take over creative control and they act as distributors instead.

I was OK with Venom. Carnage was awful.

And you're right, I have no faith in Kraven. It's huntin' time!

Spider-Verse has been very good.

I got dragged along to see this - maybe my punishment for being single on Valentines? It was truly awful with no redeeming qualities- the entire time my friend and I were making fun of the film, questioning the logic, why our favorite actors ended up here, and joking about the awful action and special effects throughout the film.
