That raised an eyebrow - but see below how most outlets describe the character, which is what I think the author was going for?

"The Columbia Pictures film is set to be the first time a Latino character leads a Marvel live-action film."

Well, when you have to specify a *lead* whose actor and *character* is *Latino*, meaning a modern U.S. American with Latin heritage from the main DC or MCU mulitiverse...

Disney did this with Captain Marvel, trumpeting that it was the first major superhero movie featuring a female main character (ignoring Marvel’s own Elektra and DC’s Wonder Woman came out years earlier. DC’s about to beat them to the gate with Blue Beetle in a few months.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been removed from Sony's release calendar.

"“Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” the third film in the blockbuster Lord and Miller animated franchise, has been undated. It was meant to open March 29, 2024. Due to union’s work stoppage orders, the voice cast cannot complete dialogue recording in time for the spring opening, said a Sony source. A new date is expected in the coming weeks."

Kraven the Hunter has also shifted to August 30, 2024.

Venom 3 has been dated to July 12, 2024.

"With a deal in place with the Writers Guild, studios have begun taking aim at setting writers for their open assignments. Marvel Studios is looking to set the bar with what will likely become one of the more sought-after jobs for any scribe.

Sources tell Deadline that Marvel will start setting writer meetings later this fall for pitches on its anticipated X-Men movie. Insiders add there is no rush to fill the job since the film hasn’t been dated yet, and it’s more than likely that writer decision will be made at the top of 2024. Marvel declined comment."

Article from Deadline says Disney has reached a settlement with Victoria Alonso.

“The Walt Disney Company has settled with former Marvel Studios VFX chief Victoria Alonso after pink-slipping her last month.

While details between Alonso and Disney are confidential, there was a multi-million financial compensation, we hear. The deal between the parties was reached in the past few days. Alonso was represented by Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro LLP in the dispute, which went public on March 24.

The office of Alonso’s attorney Patricia Glaser had no comment on the settlement for their client when contacted by Deadline today. Disney itself did not return request for comment when Deadline reached out to the Mouse House.”

YIKES. It sounds like they are almost at the point of a total reboot being needed for phase 4-6. Also can't say I heard about the London thing where his girlfriend needed medical attention. That's going to really put a wrench in his "I'm the Victim" stuff.

Yeah that’s a new one to me too. And she was a Disney employee, apparently.

Here's the new trailer for Madame Web.

So Disney is gender-swapping Spider-Man now? And there's more than one of them? They cancelled Tom Holland in the name of DEI!

NOTE: I'm just kidding! Madame Web looks fun, and I'm really excited to see Sony's live-action Spider-verse expanding. I'm especially looking forward to Silk: Spider Society, and I hope they're all interconnected.

This isn't Disney, this is Sony and part of their Sony Spider-Man Universe.

And while I know you're joking, Madam Web actually plays a large role in the Spiderverse.

What is it about Dakota Johnson that I'm missing? She keeps getting work as an actress.

I've yet to see her facial expression mimic a human emotion.
