Gay Week:

We are planning on a trip first week in june 2010. I was told this is Gay week. Someone told me that it might actually be a good time to go because people don't want to be there during this time. Our the crowds any bigger or smaller during this time because if crowds are smaller we will be happy even if it's Gay week

I have been there once during this time and noticed no difference in crowds.

There will be a lot of people there due to it being summer. Expect summer wait times.... which are long regardless of this event.

I have been during gaydays. It is like any other day. Go and enjoy yourself.

I found the week of GayDays this year to be quite light, as long as you check their schedule (google gaydays 2010, and their site will come up). Whatever park they are planning to be at, avoid, because that one park will be slammed. They post their schedule very early, so it's easy to plan around it. There will be tons of people at whatever park they have scheduled for the day - everywhere else will be very manageable.

Unless of course you're there in support of homosexuals or are one yourself, then by all means, wear red. I'm not a homosexual, but when I happen to be there during that week I'll wear red and I haven't once been molested by one of those crazy guys.

Actually, I would still wear red, but I guess someone was a little too happy, and started to hit on me near the Emporium a few years back.

Needless to say, I don't now...

The first week of June being Gay Week is not only in WDW but in a lot of places around the world. Most metropolitan cities will have a Pride festival or activities that week. So even if you don't go during that time the festivities still might be around you. :animwink:

Being half Mexican, I can vouch that they do indeed let minorities into the park.


That being said, I do wish they didn't have Gay Days in the parks.

Funny story from a couple of years ago.....We are typically in WDW during Gay Days due to SWW occurring at the same time. My wife, being the eternal prankster that she is, packed me nothing but red shirts for that weekend.:lol:
