Garden Grill restaurant permanently immobile? No.

We just ate there tonight. There are semi-permanent screens in front of the restaurant with plants to provide privacy to the people dining that are facing out towards the open space. The CM said they stopped trying at night about a week again to fix and it didn't seem likely. Our reservation was for 7 pm about 1/3 of tables were empty. CM said they are getting a lot of cancellations for to the restaurant not rotating, but just way too expensive to fix. I'm sad....
Oh by the way...our table was the one right above the rooster and dog barking in the farmhouse scene...lovely
I have a cousin who works in matience at WDW. He said it will be fixed it is just taking a while because the necessary parts are coming from overseas

I dont understand why so many here are saying they got sick because of the rotating?? It's not even noticeable.

I don't really notice that Mission: Space is rotating, but plenty of people get sick. Obviously in a whole different league, but I guess some people could be really sensitive to rotation. It can be worse because you don't notice it. You don't consciously feel it but your subconscious says something is not quite right.

Soaring is a great addition to the Land Pavilion, but the rest of it now looks like an airport concourse food court...Surely there is more to "The Land" than a food court!?!
I think the whole pavilion needs a makeover... Keep the dining, Keep Soaring and Living with the Land, but make the interior of the building seem like it is connected to The Land. The rotating restaurant had great views of the biosphere environments...A wonderful thing to keep (with rotation intact, but the overall pavilion is kind of tragic looking. I know of several shopping malls that look more organic and beautiful than this.

I remember it being significantly more Land-y in the past. I think it has become more cluttered as they added more seating and whatnot, and that completely destroys any open plains vibe it once had.

Not working we ate there last night, waiter indicated it was too expensive to fix. They've been trying since March. Can't get parts due to cost.

maybe not if you join them together.

example: parts are too expensive (if bought locally).. thus they were found and ordered overseas.. but they will take time to arrive and need to spread the costs the WDW way to keep stock owners happy.

An electric motor and some gears. That's what makes something turn. Nothing from overseas. Nothing that takes months to get. The whole thing could be built with parts from Radio Shack.

It boils down to money. That's it. It costs money to fix, and they lose money when they shut it down to repair it. Managers don't want any of that on their books. And as long as naive guests continue to book it up, it will stay broken.

That's literally all there is to it.
