Well, as a few of you know, I graduated from college a few months ago. As a very few of you know, I've had trouble breaking into the journalism field in my small town and have been looking for any job lately to kick-start some income.

Well, as hardly any of you know, I got a call from the editor of the local newspaper last week and was asked to come in to handle some fake "trial" assignments, to see how I would do out on the street and in front of a computer.

And...as NONE of you know (until now), I just got a call inviting me to join the staff as a full-time Lifestyle/Health/Religion writer!

Yes, my first "real job." I'll be writing profiles of local people, and weekly features on youth trends, health issues, and a "Pulpit Roundup" of what some local ministers will be speaking on in their Sunday services. I'll also be assisting with the Obits section.

I start "shadowing" tomorrow afternoon at 2, and from there, will be putting in 40 hours a week.

My AIM screenname (see sig) is no longer a fancy at this point...it actually represents what I am. :D

Anyway, I'm a bit pumped, so I just thought I'd share with all of you.

Congrats man!!!

Let's go to the pub and grab some drinks! (on me...well...I'll pay...I don't want you drinking them off of me or anything...because frankly...that would be weird!)

Congrats man. That is great news. Now maybe you could do an article on all the freaks out there on WDW sites, presant company excluded of course. . . :lookaroun

*quietly tiptoes away*

*trips on own feet into a pyramid of cans filled with 3 pennies each...and ends up landing on a pile of jingle bells*

Way to go! Job = good. Here's hoping you find the work challenging, rewarding and fulfilling, but most folks will tell you that 2 out of 3 ain't bad, either!

I played a reporter in the musical "Windy City", so if you need any pointers feel free to ask

Congratulations, hope you have a fun time.

Congratulations, I am just about 5 weeks into my first job and out in the "real world" now too. It really feels good to have a steady paycheck coming in.
Good luck to you!
