Well, as a few of you know, I graduated from college a few months ago. As a very few of you know, I've had trouble breaking into the journalism field in my small town and have been looking for any job lately to kick-start some income.
Well, as hardly any of you know, I got a call from the editor of the local newspaper last week and was asked to come in to handle some fake "trial" assignments, to see how I would do out on the street and in front of a computer.
And...as NONE of you know (until now), I just got a call inviting me to join the staff as a full-time Lifestyle/Health/Religion writer!
Yes, my first "real job." I'll be writing profiles of local people, and weekly features on youth trends, health issues, and a "Pulpit Roundup" of what some local ministers will be speaking on in their Sunday services. I'll also be assisting with the Obits section.
I start "shadowing" tomorrow afternoon at 2, and from there, will be putting in 40 hours a week.
My AIM screenname (see sig) is no longer a fancy at this point...it actually represents what I am.
Anyway, I'm a bit pumped, so I just thought I'd share with all of you.
