Future of the Hollywood Tower of Terror

Isn't not having Twilight Zone merch in a Twilight Zone store kinda on-theme?

;)
Ah just like the Movie..

In a way I've always thought that the plot would be their scape goat for a quick switch if the Twilight Zone IP ended..

People like discounts. TJM and Home Goods are positioned as discount stores. Customers think they're getting deals.
That wasn't his point. TJM and Home Goods have constant influx of changing product, there's a reason they don't have online versions of their stores. It's not about the deal. It's about finding something unique that may not be there ever again, unlike the usual product you find in every WDW shop all the time

I would understand and be okay if they drop (pun intended) the Twilight Zone tie in even though I love the Tower as is and live the Twilight Zone television show.

I would only hope it is minimal adjustments because it's so perfect. If it gets completely rethemed to something different like Mission Breakout then I'm done. It also would be one of the things that would make me rethink visiting.

Tried this ride for the first time on our recent trip. Very cool theming and an exciting experience. I remember watching a handful of Twilight Zone episodes growing up.

Took my son along for my second ride, and he thought the theming was generally cool but has zero idea about the Twilight Zone.

He’s excited to try the ride again if we take another trip someday.

If I told him that on our next trip the ride would be themed to Doctor Strange, he’d be twice as excited. Frankly, I’d join that excitement because I love the world of Strange.

Times change…

And, this is probably a good reason why humans don’t live much past 100 years old, if that.
Can you imagine being a 10-year-old kid listening to your Yoda-aged great, great, great, whatever 😉 grandfather saying “When I was your age, 890 years ago, blah, blah, blah…???!!!!! 😁🤣😉

I love, love, love Twilight Zone (the TV show)... the number of Easter eggs from the original TV show in the ride/queue are just staggering and (as a fan of the show) I'd hate to see them removed. Then again, I totally get that probably 100% of the Easter eggs to the original TV show (other then Rod Sterling and the Theme Song) are probably overlooked by 99% of guests.

That is cool - but you are right in my case; I had no idea there were any Easter eggs, although I appreciated the detailed theming.

Well sure, but that's the nature of Easter eggs anyway. Or at least it was before the MCU kind of perverted them.

The entire ride is so TZ coded I don't know how they retheme it without significant changes. Everything from the pre-show, to the first show scene, to the narration, to all the props in the hallway, to...like everything.

Rest assured if they retheme the ride, it's going to be a very different experience

Just to confirm: Are you saying it's getting a "tune-up" or an IP overlay?
The best we can hope for is it still staying the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

The Twilight Zone is probably %99.9 gone if what he says is true. If not, it’s going to happen eventually. It’s unfortunate but true. I have a gut feeling this is true. The merchandise not featuring the twilight zone name, or even tower of terror, as well as tot getting NO merchandise push or even akdowlegement in ANY form by the company for the attractions 30th birthday this year is very telling. Even current version of figment got a 20th birthday pin recently. We all kidna never thought to realize how odd that was. It’s the last attraction not themed to an ip created by the company, owned by the company, or invented by imagineering at Disney World.

A brand new member spewing “inside information”? Sure…

Keep the salt handy. I trust about half a dozen posters when it comes to such information. That poster isn’t on the list. (I have a reason to be suspicious, but that poster isn’t why)

It is kind of fascinating how often it works that someone can just pop in spewing stuff that people start taking as gospel.

My sources say that due to current trends and the need to remove anything scary, one floor will be removed from the building every 2 years until the ride becomes the Happiness Hotel completing the Muppet takeover of that corner of the park.

It’s not because of that poster, it’s just bc I’ve been kinda sus about the future of tower for a while with the things mentioned above.

No way it stays TZ Forever. I would love to be wrong though.
