Future of the Hollywood Tower of Terror

They finally replaced the speakers in the library scenes to have a much louder more binaural sound for the final piece of dialogue on the pre-show.

I continue to think if they just put a little money into redoing the Fifth Dimension scene, which was budget cut down from what they originally planned to begin with, this would feel as current today as it did when it opened.

I think this would better fit in the show effects watch thread: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/tower-of-terror-effects-status-watch.861775/

If I know ToT's audio system well, it's that everything is tied into the same audio system which has been playing audio out of the wrong speakers and having varying volume levels since 2021. If this is different, I have to wonder if the audio in the ride is at least "different" now, since I remember that the audio system was very touchy in the past in that any change will affect other audio...

On her latest Podcast, Alicia Stella discussed a Tower re-theme and does mention Dr. Strange. It's presented as a hypothetical / unsubstantiated rumor, but others on here have indicated that there is a 3rd attraction / shoe to drop in DHS.

Even as a non-local, I would be disappointed if this were changed. This OG version has the cool dark ride portion where you change shafts and seems special. I hope they keep it as is.

But I bet they change it for corporate synergies so they can have one of the park icons also be an ad for one of their movies...

It's an unqualified meh from me on what the ride is themed on, as long as it has a theme, maybe even the much derided Olivia Rodrigo could be used...as a metaphor for her career when she reaches 30 and the newer generation of pop princess takes over.

When it first opened back in the 90s it was all high quality Hotel gifts as if it were an actual hotel... no cartoon T shirts... there were Hollywood Tower Hotel golf shirts and some T shirts but very tasteful and understated... I thought it was a brilliant touch....then all the cartoony stuff started comin in a few years later... so sad. The Merchandising team needs to start understanding the entertainment value of shopping...and people LOVE location specific/attraction specific things... I don't have any interest in generic Nightmare Before Christmas merch... but a TOT specific shop would be fun to look through... Universal figured this out a decade ago with the Harry Potter merch....
There is a reason TJMaxx and HomeGoods does so well... People love to shop... They need to give us a reason at the Disney Parks like they did long ago....

Disney’s approach to merchandising over the past decade can be summed up thusly:

“They’re tourists, whadda they know?”

“The lemmings buy it up, why put any effort into it?”

When did they stop selling Twilight Zone merch in the gift shop? I'm fairly certain it was there about 10 years ago.
They have some but at least 75% of the gift shop is non-Tower-related merchandise. I’ll see if I have any pics from September.

Edit: I only seem to have one pic from September 2022. Basically the only Tower merch is right as you enter the gift shop from unload - the shelf to the left, the unit in the walkway (both pictured below), and 2 shelves on the right.

Constant fear over classic attractions being closed and replaced with modern ip’s?

Well… you wanted Disney to do stuff more like universal, right?

(For the record, I am not endorsing all of the closing and replacing going on)
