Further proof that the Dueling Dragons coasters at IOA were supposed to be at Disney

Yes it does... President Reagan passed an Act back in 1985 which became an Amendment of the U.S. Constitution in 1991 under George Bush Senior that reads as follows;
Any and all symbols relating to, designed like, or with intentions of looking like the Mickey Mouse ears shall be found to represent Mickey Mouse and the Walt Disney Company. Any company, corporation, or persons who innovatively create this symbols without direct permission from the WDco will be found guilty and subjected to 6 hours of Its a Small World.
Those are the rules... I didn't write 'em

STILL laughing at you!

I'm going to have to disagree, I think Universal is more "creative" than that. Although they may have had similar plans I believe this is just a coincidence.

UC is awefully smart and has tons of their own laywers. They would be very careful about what they would do so they don't get sued.

Besides, why would they WANT to do a HM on their rides unless its poking fun at Disney like in the Jurrasic Park ride? All it would accomplish is to provide some free advertising for their main competitor and would put Mickey in the minds of their customers. They wouldn't want to do that...

You mean seriously what? You can't just end a post "I mean seriously..."

I don't know what you mean...

I'm throwing in my vote for "Best 'leaving you on the edge of your seat' post of the year"

I mean seriously....

I had holes in one of my socks that made a perfect mickey. Following your logic, should I assume that my Dockers socks were in fact manufactured by Disney?

Ohhhh.... I hope I win! I hear the competition is pretty fierce what with that new "Harry Potter is coming to the Magic Kingdom" thread that was just started in the "News and Rumors" forum. :lookaroun

Again, I thought I was clear on this... I didn't write these rules...

President Ronald Reagan passed this and under George Senior it became an amendment to the constitution

Now... if you wanna make fun of me, go right ahead... but don't mock the President of the United States...

That is NOT the hidden Mickey I am talking about!!! Someone put that picture up on the thread, NOT me, the originator of the post. I will take my sisters camera and bring it with me to the park in the next day or two and take a picture myself. Please wait until I, the originator of the post, shows you what I was talking about...

Notwithstanding the humor, one has to realize that while rides are designed by imagineers, they are BUILT by subcontractors. I'm sure that the blueprints for the ride vehicle did not include instructions for pimply hidden mickeys, purely coincidence

Yes it would be illegal. That is why DD was not built using Disney blueprints and designs but rather was simply based on the ideas for a similar ride that would have been built at DAK.

And may one day be built. Maybe after Everest. I believe Iger was a fan of the concept. :drevil:

Well, thats not entirely true. While not Imagineers many of the ride vehicles are built by the people at WDW's central shops. Additionaly in many cases work on new construction is done by the Disney owned Buena Vista Construction Company and cosmetic work done by one of disney's two paintings companies; one being a unit of the BVCC and the other being Disney's Powerhouse painter group.

Roller Coaster cars such as those used in DD or even RnRC would have been built by an outside contractor (B&M and Vekoma respectively). However all cosmetic work, detailing, and themeing for the RnRC vehicles would have been done at the WDW central shops.

If you go onto the Twister Atraction at Universal in the first room (I think) where the car is hanging from the ceiling there is a mickey mouse hat that's run over by the car.

I hate Universal and was forced to go with some friends, and I didn't have a camera, but perhaps one of you can go over and look for this and take the pic for me.

I'm not surprised. I hear (never been so can't say for sure) that there are a number of places at the Universal parks where Mickey Mouse ears are mutilated just to tick off Disney. The Jurassic Park one is the one that most comes to mind, however.

During a nightime discussion of the future of Disney Parks, specifically Animal Kingdom, the WDWMagic member I talked to mentioned Beastly Kingdom and it came up that it may not be totally dead because Iger was a supporter of the project. As CEO, Iger has the power to approve rides. When Eisner became CEO, he toured the Imagineering headquarters in Glendale and approved Splash Mountain. Good ideas never die in Walt Disney Imagineering!

Don't hold me to this, I am only human and am therefore impressionable and forgetful!
