We were on star tours and had no video ,you didnt know what way you were going to move next.

Oh my God....I would have :hurl: instantly!!! The only thing that kept me halfway stable was the synchronization with the video....and that still wasn't very good.

Anyone been on a ride where something little wasn't working and it turned out to be histerical??

For me it was this- On the last hill of Splash Mountain, Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox talk to each other. They are supposed to say the same thing but it turned out wrong.

Brer Fox- "I'm just going to have to skin ya"
Brer Rabbit- "Roast me if you must, but please, please just don't drop me into that brer patch!!"
:p

That's just another reason why this ride needs a refurb!

To TimeTrip: They're supposed to say the same thing so if brer fox says that he's going to skin brer rabbit, brer rabbit should reply telling brer fox not to skin him. Not something else like roast him.
You're wrong. Right before you take the final plunge, there is the last scene of the hill climb. In this scene, Brer Rabbit is tied up and the cooking pot in front of him. Brer Fox actually has more than one script for this scene. No matter what Brer Fox says will be the fate of Brer Rabbit however, Brer Rabbit always says "Roast me if you must Brer Fox, but please don't throw me in the briar patch!" Brer Fox says the following phrases;
  • "Well Brer Rabbit, it looks like I'm gonna have to COOK YA!"
  • "Well Brer Rabbit, it looks like I'm gonna to SKIN YA!"
  • "Well Brer Rabbit, it looks like I'm gonna to ROAST YA!"
  • "Well Brer Rabbit, it looks like I'm gonna to HANG YA!"
It was written that way!

I usually skip IASW because I cant' stand the music of this ride.
Last year I was with a friend there who visited WDW for the first time so we had to ride IASW.
Needless to say that we got stuck in the middle of the ride for about 10 minutes!
It was pure horror as some of you maybe can imagine!
The song was hours in my head repeating and repeating again!!!

Off topic comment, but I've never understood people's aversion to "It's a Small World." I can't say I've ever tired of the song...or the attraction. I, for one, would just like to say, "Thank you, Sherman Brothers!"

Sorry Woody - You are WRONG! Been on Splash hundreds of times and the answer is always supposed to follow Brer Fox's threat - ALWAYS!! When it doesn't, it is a malfunction. And there is no COOK YA! :hammer:

I have one. I was riding Maelstrom on the first lift hill. The Norse God starts his speil, "You are not the first to cross this path, nor will you be the..." The ride stops and the lights come on. Me, "Obviously, we aren't the last cause we aren't even goin to cross this path." the lights came back on a couple minutes later and off we went.

Im really confused now, he just said in the post that INDY has a manual brake, there was no mention of Space Mountain at all...

I think it's going back to my post regarding a mishap I had on space mtn.

When I was on Splash Mountain they had the biggest problem ever! All the lights and sounds were gone! And it was at night, so the entire ride was quiet and pitch black! It was great!

One of the funniest things I ever saw wasn't due to a breakdown really but bad weather. We had just boarded the jungle cruise shortly after the usual midsummer afternoon down pour and lots of rain had collected on the roof of the boat. One of cm's was fiddling around with the cover (not quite sure what he was trying to do, maybe roll it up since the rain had stopped). Anyways, the cover came unhinged and all of the water on the roof came rushing down onto a poor woman sitting below in one huge woosh. Needless to say she got completely drenched. We, along with everyone else on the boat, couldn't help but laugh. Luckily she was a really good sport about the whole thing.

That has happened to me too When I was on it, it happened at both front and back of the boat, a woman got soaked first in front, then me in back got soaked.. in freezing water.. brrrr(luckily it was like 95 out so after the `shock` it was actually nice.

This past December, on our first night at WDW we thought we would finish up the evening at EPCOT with a ride on SSE. Well, when we got to the top the ride stopped. We were stuck looking at that great big sky with the earth and stars for quite a while and finally they just gave up and said we would have to abandon ship. The lights came on and some CM'ers came up and helped us down. As we were at the very top it was quite a hike down. I can tell you SSE is a very different place with the lights on. The area where we were sitting, the big earth and stars at the top, well, that area was used to store all kinds of really dusty things in, including paintcans and even a pair of socks! The whole interior is covered in a layer of dust and as you descend and see the way the wiring and styrofoam, plastic, boards everywhere, everything is, well, let me say it was not too slick looking. It was interesting though and the CM'ers were great in getting us out.

We had a similar experience on PoTC. The ride stopped and we waited for a while - it seemed like ages. Finally, they turned the lights on and a bunch of technicians/CMs escorted us out of the boats and out the emergency exits. We then walked around the back of the building and back into Adventureland.

It's not too funny, per se, but it was quite a cool experience!

I was on HM when it all the sudden stopped in the room with Maidem Leota (can't spell). We were stopped for about five minutes and my buggy was right infront of ML. The entire time ML kept repeating her lines over and over. It began to make me laugh after about the fifth time.

To this day I am still convinced I broke Star Tours... I was riding it (when I was a child) and I had to go to the bathroom really bad and as soon as I started going in my pants, the ride stopped and we had to exit.

That is so funny! You poor thing! I dont think I ever had a funny ride malfunction. And thats weird because I was down there for 4 1/2 months and did everything a million times. (oh I miss it!) We got stuck at the last scene of PotC once. Thats was annoying. I would love to see some of the malfunctions you guys told about CoP. I loved that! Did anyone ever see the Christmas version of theDisney Stars and Motor Cars Parade at MGM? Our running joke was that the soundtrack was on Speed. The music was horribly fast, but the floats and dancers were moving at a normal speed, merrily making their way along.
Guess thats all I have for now. You guys got any more?

A friend and I were riding HM, and he had not rode it in years. We were coming out of the house backwards and getting ready to turn around into the graveyard, when the ride stopped. We were stuck facing the gravedigger and his scrawny dog for 5 minutes. It was very creepy, especially for my friend.
Oh my gosh I have always been too scared to go on HM but we are going back on the 10th so I will ride it this time I just hope that doesn’t happen to me 😅
