Full POV video ride through of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

It looks like loads of fun, and a great ride for the little ones. It's leaps ahead of the barnstormer, but not quite on that BTMRR level.

The animatronics look incredible and the theming is awesome! Like many on this forum, I am very anxious to finally ride this attraction. It felt like an eternity for this ride to open lol!

The Fantasyland Expansion is finally *almost* completed!

Where is that in the video?
Actually, that part is not shown in this video (though I think one of the recent AA videos had a quick clip), but in the main update posted about "fun facts" today on the main page had a note about it:
The shadows of the Dwarfs marching homeward along the track on the lift inside of the mine were rotoscoped from the scene in the original film where the Dwarfs march across a log bridge, singing “…home from work we go.” (Rotoscoping is a technique where the movements of a figure in original live or animated footage are copied, or traced, frame-by-frame).

looks nifty. cant wait to check it out

is the music on board or just added for you tube?

If you listen carefully while in the mine, you can hear the "We Dig Dig Dig" song (sorry Idk the title... lol) playing, even under the other music in the video. That stuff was definitely just added for YouTube.

The only thing that kind of bothered me, kind of kills the environment, is seeing that big ugly Storybook Circus sign in the background... Otherwise everything else looks pretty darn good... Take away that circus sign, and the other 99% of the environment is fantastic... That sign isn't a make or break, just a little peeve... Otherwise, solid D ticket as we all expected...

What the heck? The ride is wayyyy too short. Should be at least 1 minute longer.

Even Casey Jr. at Disneyland which is pretty comparable is 4 minutes + long

Yeah, but SDMT is a "thrill" ride. Thrill rides are generally a lot shorter than gentle slow moving rides due to the G Forces, and etc.

For example, Space Mountain is 2 1/2 minutes, while Spaceship Earth (almost the same size) is about 16 minutes.

I mentioned this in the post for the exterior video of the ride; I was really expecting more swaying movement from the carts. In the previous exterior video, it didn't look like they were swaying at all, and it doesn't really look like it in this video either. Wasn't that supposed to be one of the key features for the ride?
Years ago when they had the car mounted to a truck to test the concept it did look much more. I guess once they put it on a track it must have been toned down.

Also, if they would have made the track about 150 feet tall and a real mountain roller coaster, taking up 8 minutes of thrill ride-time, recreating Temple of Doom's mine-car chase scene in duplicate, it could have been amazing.
Not really what it seems like they were shooting for. Looks like they built exactly what they said they were going to build to me.
I agree with you. They set the bar low from the beginning. This is definitely nothing more than what they promised, not even a hair more than expected.

I wish there was more to see in the forest, honestly if they wanted too they can throw a log in there somewhere to show the dwarves going to work or home from work. But I am sure we shall get those updates 20 years from now when the attraction gets its first refurb (sarcasm)

I'm assuming this was a shock posts to get some bickering going because I don't know how anyone could say they're are comparable. Especially after that pov video recently shown.

The ride looks great. I took my five year old on splash last year and she was scared and it hit me. These big thrill rides became a lot less interesting once my entire family couldn't ride. I enjoy her smiles then my own selfish need for high octane adventures. It's why I don't care for what's happening at uni because I can't have my family enjoy it so why waste my money and time and only enjoy it myself.

What the train rides brings is HOPEFULLY a coaster we all can ride with great theming and some thrills for dad. It looks awesome, fun and just right for families. I hat to bring the "Walt wanted" thought in but he wanted rides a whole family can enjoy and this ride looks like it can deliver. Two mins of family fun is a lot better than waiting one hour plus for dad to ride splash and the rest of the family standing around.

Since the shot is so steady, the camera for this video was most likely mounted to the solid, unmoving part of the front car chassis.

Looks really short. It'll probably have really long lines for a while due to Fastpass. Not exactly a showstopping attraction, but I doubt anyone was expecting it to be.

A land that would have taken up a gigantic amount of space with a maximum of one ride (a retheme of mater's junkyard jamboree - Yippee). Out of the two options we got the far better one. Even if that means the circus tents stayed.

Absolutely agree. I believe it was a last minute decision as well. Pixie Hollow with a bunch of M&Gs and a possible C-ticket vs the mine coaster. Would a more thrilling ride have appealed to me? I guess so, but I never expected that in Fantasyland. I do know, had they kept with the original plans of Pixie Hollow, I and the rest of the family would not have spent anytime there. We are however, looking forward to riding 7DMT on our next trip.

The USA Today video is great. I think it'll be a neat attraction and a worthy replacement for the previous Snow White ride. Surely not a 1+ hr wait for me but I'll give it a shot if it's under 30 min.

The load area looks cozy and I'm surprised how big it looks. I haven't been to MK in a few weeks so I'm probably forgetting how big the area is. Does anyone know of there's a gift shop or meet and greet planned for this area?
