Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

Even though it is already so crowded, I think the best place for a Frozen attraction is Magic Kingdom. Get rid of Autotopia and add a matterhorn-type ride (although smaller), inevitable meet and greet, and some shopping (with snow on the roof). This way every time it snows on Main Street they can say something like "Queen Elsa is up to her old tricks again". And if you have to keep Autotopia move it to the Studios but make it smaller and themed to cars and put it in Pixar place. Make it more interesting with hills and fun turns and character-themed cars.

I do not think Maelstrom can handle the crowds if they made it themed to frozen. I'd also make the B&B show themed to Frozen. That way they get people in EPCOT for the Meet and Greet, Studios for the show, and MK once its built.

My .02 cents.
That's a great set of ideas

Nah MK is too full what I would love to see them do but I know they won't is build a 5th park based around the movies of the last 20 or so years.

A new park with Frozen, Wreck It Ralph, Tangled, Princess and the Frog, and so on. Basically any movie in the past 20 years that doesn't have a signficant presense in the parks already.

Careful, that would also include Home on the Range, also known as "... Are you sure this wasn't a direct-to-video movie?"

well I meant the new classics. I mean come on a Wreck It Ralph ride based on Sugar Rush using the Cars Ride tech? Fun racing outside then inside dark ride elements as you bust through different games?

They have more then enough IPs now to make a really good fifth park.... if they wanted to spend money on it. Which I know will almost never happen.

Ooh, what about a coaster based of the Hydra fight in Hercules? The idea is the coaster cars are Pegasus and you're flying around fighting the Hydra.

All of these ideas fit in well with the whole Disney Studios Park concept...no 5th park needed....And they could make DHS into a fully fleshed out park...after all these are all based on Disney Films... Makes sense that they be at The Studios...

I'm seriously surprised we haven't even heard grumblings of a WIR ride. Sugar Rush is ASKING to be made into a ride. Hell, I'd allow it to be a Tomorrowland Speedway overhaul.

Or, retheme Buzz's Space Ranger Spin to Hero's Duty. Add a pre-show with Calhoun giving instructions, complete with a brief interruption by Fix-It Felix ("Honey, I made you lunch; if you're going to fight Cybugs all day, you need proper nutrition!")

Why not try to create a connection between land and attraction?
Sanity at last.

"It's a movie, so it fits in DHS's theme"
"It's a Nordic cartoon, so it fits in WS"
"Walt meant for the MK to have lands devoted to space toons, princess toons, cowboy toons, and colored toons"

You'd end up with one of those cheap Chinese knock-off parks. 'Dr. Magic's Wonderful Fairly Castle Land - where your kids can play 'pirates' and meet their fav toons of their cereal packages!'

Yeah let's just take a bunch of animated movies and throw them together in a 5th park and call it Disney's Last 20 Years Kingdom. Brilliant.
This post really sums up quite neatly what is wrong with the attitude of Disney and much of its fan base regarding theme parks. "Disney's" doesn't denote the effort and creative legacy of theme park development, but developments in other, legitimate, mediums. The parks would be void of content without other mediums generating content to support the theme parks.

Had this thought about a Frozen ride in WDW....

It would be great if they could use the undeveloped land north of Fantasyland (inside the railroad berm) to create a "winter" part of fantasyland. I'll call it "Winter Wonderland" for lack of a better name. It would be themed to having snow and ice, somewhat like Blizzard Beach.

....

Gonna quote myself because I thought of another addition to my proposed icy mini-land. I was looking through old books that we have and found one about Pablo the Cold Blooded Penguin. I always loved that story and didn't realize that it is one of the segments of The Three Caballeros movie.

Anyway, a nice small Fantasyland style dark ride themed to The Cold Blooded Penguin (aka The Penguin Who Hated the Cold) would be a good compliment to a larger Frozen dark ride and more thrilling Matterhorn ride. With a Frozen M&G and some food (gotta serve ice cream and other cold treats), it would make a pretty well rounded area.

Yeah, but who came first - Pablo or Chilly Willy? ;)
